So are you responding to the position that College Baseball is as big as College Football or College Basketball? Because no one has made that argument. Most would argue that the NCAA and ESPN aren't doing enough to help the game grow bigger, by which they acknowledge that it isn't as big as the other two sports.

nah, this is the same argument hocky fans use. viewers lead to ratings, which in turn lead to marketing. why would espn waste their time hyping something that the majority of the country isn't interested in and isn't going to watch?

Agreed. I'd be just as proud if our women's soccer team won a national title. Both sports are largely irrelevant, but still, a national title is a national title.

Nationally, no, it's not a major sport. But that doesn't mean it's not a major sport at LSU. It's huge. It shouldn't matter, though. I'm a huge NHL fan, and most say it's not even a major sport (the "3 major professional sports") and I'm a semi-big college lacrosse fan (which is actually bigger than most down south would think it is, but still no where near a major sport). Just because, overall, those may not be "major sports" doesn't mean I enjoy them any less.

college sports are important to me and they will forever take a back seat to professional sports...jesus, there was even manny ramirez updates as he was batting in AAA last night.
imho, the fact that the world gives too shits about, say, LSU baseball makes me appreciate it even more. and, just in case any of you were interested, my son's little league team just lost a huge divisional game on saturday

So, why the need to bring this up today? It may not be happening nationally, but people around here are geared up for the game and love LSU baseball.
