This isn't 2011, a rematch with Alabama would allow us to potentially end an era.

We barely beat Alabama on the road in 2011. This score made the game seem much closer than it really was.

This game was a punt return and two defensive miscues from being a blow out.

I'd rather play a team that I know that we are better than in the playoffs and further strengthen the perception that we are on the incline and them on the decline than watch them curb stomp some team on new years day, and tell recruits that it was an injury based anomaly and we lucked out to have Burrow for one more year.

I wouldn't be surprised if they moved in at 3 and had to play ohio state while we got Clemson. Either way, this is a win win for us.

Bama's gonna win out and the committee will have No. 1 LSU vs No. 4 Bama. I say bring it on.

frick Bama. What have they done to deserve to get in over any other one loss team? They literally have the weakest schedule in the power 5.

ETA: before you give me that pretty loss shite, they were in 4 down for an entire half. They hit on a freak punt return, a Hail Mary where we were in the wrong defense, and a deep ball where our own coaches were distracting the DB.

You know would be even more awesome? If they didn’t get in and we played someone completely different.
Why even want a scenario where it was even possible to lose to them in the playoffs? And today of all days?

Let’s just worry about us...we won..let’s enjoy it.

Screw that. Bama doesn't deserve any fing charity handout. Especially how theyve been mealy mouthing about how LSU played against a one legged QB.

AU is going to make it all irrelevant

Maybe. But it’s hard to beat a good team twice in a season.

Them making it into the CFP isn't going to help boost the perception that they're on the decline.

You didn't think this out well at all

Also a rematch would be at a neutral field with non SEC officiating.

Bring it on

I hope they get left out of the playoff because frick them, but if they’re in, let’s beat that arse on a neutral field.

Losing to LSU twice in one year seems to be a pretty good message to me but I see your view point.

Nope.

Bama is very likely done. There are too many solid undefeated teams available.

1 loss conference champs > Alabama, too. They also lost at home, so, even less of an excuse.

They’re done.

They don't deserve it. You can't reward a team for intentionally crafting a weak schedule, losing to the only ranked team they've faced, and then sitting at home on championship Saturday.

The "revenge" factor is also real and it's powerful. Giving Alabama a month to practice and work to avenge a painful loss at home is a recipe for disaster. Their offense was almost unstoppable in the second half. Any LSU fan begging to play them again, thinking the outcome will be the same, is delusional. See 2011.

I said before game if we beat Bama Auburn will also.I still believe that, but I agree if we were to beat them twice in the same year it could send them into a death spiral.

frick that they don't deserve a second chance. We dominated that arse , aside from 3 plays, at their place

Rematch would be in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta and it would be like a Bama home game.
