The experts have said this virus also can mutate into something worse than it presently is. The flu has been around for 2500 years. This isn't hardly 3 months old. The flu has vaccines most people can take as preventative measures. This has nothing. There's hopes for a vaccine in months or years, but there are no guarantees those will work. This simply isn't going away once it hits 80 degrees outside folks.

It also exists in all 50 states, but we weren't proactive getting the testing together day-one to find that out. Weeks letting it fester didn't do us any favors.

Lets get our country the number of tests and medical equipment it needs, the hospital beds and ventilators it will need. Hunker down, be smart and take good care.

All 40 of the deaths in the US came from the first 55 cases. Over half of them came from a single nursing home in Washington state.

I’ve been a supporter of proactive measures. Removing the fans was a smart decision.

Canceling the entire basketball postseason and baseball regular season does seem like an overreaction.

Again, no fans, just TV.

This virus not only sptreads quickly but can also mutate. We don’t really know how it compares to influenza. We do know it can be deadly for the elderly or those with compromised immune systems.
The concern isn’t just that people attending an event may get sick, but if the virus spreads among the attendees, those people go home andthe probability of the further
Stead increases. So it’s really about containment more than preventing ticket holders from getting sick. It sucks, but they’ve probably made the most responsible decision from a public health perspective.

0.8% of the people who got the flu last year, died. This is with a prepared medical community with exceptional outreach and vaccines that are developed in anticipation of the virus.

3% of the people who have gotten coronavirus this year has died so far. There is no preparation for this virus. There is no vaccine coming anytime soon.

The difference is significant. Over-reacting will probably save lives. Blowing this off will result in more deaths. It doesn't take an advanced degree in medicine to understand the smarter choice to make.

Simple. Initially this was a precautionary, conservative act that while unpleasant, not very difficult to swallow. Now, this is an actual, legitimate concern and no one in authority gives a **** what you think. There are more important things than making millions of dollars and pleasing fans. You literally just made up the 3%. I have seen estimates as high as 2.3% and as low as .1% which is the real fatality rate of the flue. You made up the .8% also. If this is so bad, why do you feel the need to inflate the numbers? 38 people in the US have died with 1500 reported infections. That is 3%. The unknow infections could be in the 10s of thousands. Many of the infections could be not symptomatic or not reported. It does not take a statistician to do the math and know that the real number is south of 3%. You must have been a liberal arts major. Nothing wrong with that, just leave the math others.

You’re an a-hole. Just because many people that are infected recover doesn’t mean it isn’t serious and potentially fatal for others. You might get it and recover just fine but if you go visit grandma you damn well might kill her. Those 38 deaths were all people. Even if the death toll is low right now, we don’t have a vaccine for it and won’t for a LONG time. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.
