re: This is easily Jay Johnson's worst coaching job in his tenure

Two “good” teams

The reason is that LSU simply doesn’t have good enough players this year. Jay will likely do whatever he can to correct that problem. It sucks but it is what it is.

What could possibly be Johnson's excuse this year?
He did not take advice from Bodie...

Except we sucked when they played too. Time to admit Jay might not be what we thought.
Be careful; you’ll get killed on this board for saying stuff like that.

They’ll come around. They defended O for years, they defended Gayle Benson, etc.
It’s easier for most to deny the problem, or they rationalize it (like they did with O with comments I’ll trade a natty year for this) but deep down they know JJ is in deep trouble.

Kim Mulkey is the best coach on campus. She has several championships!

Thank woody for cutting NIL - now he trashed football, basketball and baseball- how is that for worthless Athletics director- pure destruction of our athetic institution

Well see about that starting in the Fall.

Nah it’s really not. He’s playing guys now he can retain next year and we almost beat a team that everyone thought would sweep us. They still may but this is not bad he’s trying to orchestrate with what he has, he’s a GREAT COACH

This is the dumbest thing I've read on here in a long time. The guy has won 2 of the last 3 national championships and that's not good enough for you? He admitted that he made some mistakes with this roster. What more do you want?

It is legitimately a bad coaching job this year, they don’t do any of the little things, they’re bad fundamentally.
They’re not anywhere close to a championship team and that’s fine, but they should be way better as a team than the are. They have no backbone and are as frustrating to watch as any team in recent memory here.

6–13 is unacceptable at LSU. It should not happen even with a few portal busts. It’s a problem stop shifting the blame to the astute posters pointing this out.

Yes we can have a down year after a natty, but this is a complete embarrassment. Much worse than a down year.
Posted on 4/24/26 at 8:43 pm to Geauxldilocks
It was a full portal bust. Play the freshmen they appreciate it and we will be better for it next year.

So you’re saying having great pitching is important?
You’re a genius.

But he won it all last year.
Nothing else matters to his boot lickers.

Seriously, is this little anti Jay fan club that fricking spoiled? Can yall not just take the season for what it's worth and realize what we have with this baseball program? It's mind numbing to think I've actually wasted time arguing with some of these brain dead losers

Here it comes again.....we're spoiled.

You know what? I agreed with him. Was he an a-hole who didn't "get it?" Yea probably, but he understood some things. It's absolutely pathetic that so called fans of a team on the verge of dynasty status are acting they way they are because of one tough stretch. He made choices in the offseason that didn't pan out, but the lessons learned will ultimately make us better in the long run. Get the frick over and watch highlights of us winning it all for second time in three seasons less than one year ago.
Being critical is expected and encouraged, but some of yall are out of your fricking minds.
Furthermore, those "terrible teams" (that didn't win a natty oh the horror) competed til the very end which begs the question, what the frick does it take for the poser fans to be happy in an "off year." What do you need? A super regional loss? 1/3? Because we all need to know how to quantify these expectations to make yall happy apparently.
