This is an opportunity to see what you actually have in Nussmeier.

Coaching staff should protect Jayden and his bright future by giving him this week off to make sure he is fully recovered. That young man is going to be a big time Pro and you have to make sure that you preserve that.

Let Nuss get all of the practice snaps, build a game plan around him as the QB. And let him rip vs Florida.

If he's good, awesome, you know what you have to work with next year.

If he is not good, then maybe you know you have to start working on the transfer portal to provide competition in Spring ball.

Florida’s secondary isn’t exactly scary, Nuss should be fine if JD5 can’t go

Honestly, I want to see Jayden Daniels keep playing. He's special and I honestly don't think playing against Florida, Georgia State, and Aggy will do much.

I think him taking 90% of the reps all offseason and into next season will be better for him.

I am 100% fine with Nuss playing against Georgia State and the bowl game tho.

This season become a disaster with losses to Florida who is fricking trash and to Aggy who is maybe one step above trash.

I don't think its a matter of JD5 can or can't go, I think you don't let him. Don't even take the risk even if he is cleared. Give him a week.

I know that won't be the case. If he is cleared, he will play.

I suspect the coaches already know what they have in Nuss.
The notion that we play him to satisfy your curiosity about what next year will look like doesn't sound like good football strategy.
Play to win, provided we can do so without endangering JD.

Can you read?

OP was a precaution and if I’m JD5, I’d be asking for it.

I like this take a lot more than some I have seen. If JD is completely cleared, he should and will play. If there is any doubt, play Nuss and we actually will get a full meaningful game with him at QB1. He will make mistakes though and people on this board are not ready for that. Does not make him a bad QB but touch and comfortability will take reps.

Yall are in for a rude awakening. JD has put this entire team on his back the last 2 years. Nuss will be good, but he will be a substantial drop off.

I’d argue that you’re the one in for a rude awakening.

I think most here understand that Nuss will drop a little because he’s not a 4 year starter…. But will be negligible by the Tim SEC ball rolls

Let the doctors decide if JD can play. If not 100% then
play Nuss. But with 3 losses, I think we need to start playing more like the bowl game to start preparing Nuss for the future

You can't really know until the gameplan is built for them and they are taking snaps under fire vs a decent team.

This is not about MY curiosity this is about keeping Daniels safe and making sure the staff knows what they have going forward.

If he doesn't have a broken jaw and isn't concussed, Daniels should play.

The coaching staff threw JD back in the game after 1 play. Still not convinced that was with medical staff approval.

BK will play him and I doubt JD takes himself out.

JD wasn't that good half of last year. He's got supreme wheels no doubt. He's also a 5th year senior at this point. Are you going to give Nuss a leash that long or are you going to be overly reactive to him as a sophmore?

I won't overreact to it at all because as I said, I already know it will be a drop off. JD has had all time performances. Numbers up there with Burrow so Nuss shouldn't be expected to be that good.

I guess I agree, but I feel like if Jayden goes off the rest of the year he still has a small Heisman shot.

The Heisman is worth the risk for what it could do to his life long term if he’s cleared.

Nuss is a RS Sophomore (he is in year 3)

Yet LSU was 4-2 in those games. You think it took some time for him to get on the same page with the WR and coaches to get into a game play and play call sheet that works for him. Without JD, you are probably 6-6 regular season and in some bottom tier bowl game and finish 7-6.
