Agree with pretty much everything you said. Only with one caveat. Jayden may still have a realistic chance to be one of the players invited to New York for the Heisman. The three losses have obviously clouded that and likely made winning it a big reach. But missing a game might derail any chance he has to be one of the finalists. So if he can play and is physically able, and wants to (which I'm quite sure he would), you owe it to him with all he's done to keep this season afloat to let him play. But for the reasons you said, it would be very beneficial to see Nuss play for next year.

Kind of.

I think it's the beginning of getting Nussmeier ready for next year. He's going to struggle to some degree for a bit. We need development and an offseason to hopefully give him a chance to hit the ground running next year.

You can make a pretty good argument that it's in everyone's best interest that we don't see Daniels again.

Nuss is a really good QB, just needs PT.

He can throw any pass, he can move a bit, and he can throw "on the run" which is a rare trait. And, he's not afraid of big moments as you can easily see when he replaces JD. In fact I think he relishes the big moment...

As a fan, I do as well. But, I think fans need to start preparing themselves. He's going to be out this week for sure. Does he come back for one game against A&M? He's definitely not playing in the bowl game.

I honestly would rather JD sit this game and maybe next then come back for A&M.
Let him get fully healthy

JD suffered a TKO on that dirty hit. You would never let a boxer spar so soon after this injury. He should sit a couple of weeks. Not worth the risk to his brain.

Nuss is in his 3rd year, he’s no spring chicken

JD was a 4th year and sucked half of last year

I don’t disagree based on where our season is and what we have left on the bone.

The only question is whether JD decides he wants that A&M game or not. I think it’s going to be up to him.

My guess is that there’s probably a 1 in 4 chance we see him again.

That’s why they last 4 games are so important toward next year.

The coaches already know what they have in Nussmeier. They see him in practice every week. If he can't make the right reads in practice, as he certainly can't in spot duty, then he is not very good. And if he can, then they know they have their guy, and they will get him ready in the Spring and Fall. In the mean time, he's seen enough action that he won't get stage fright against USC.

Don't even take the risk even if he is cleared.

If he is cleared then there is no risk, other than the normal risk of playing a healthy QB.

With that logic, just sit Nabors and Thomas too. It would be in our WR room best interest if they don’t play.

I think that JD should play if healthy, but they need to work in Nuss more. Like Georgia State should be 100% Nuss’s game.

JD can’t really benefit from that game, unless he is still in Heisman hunt

I want to see Daniels play the rest of the season. I want him to continue to rise up the ranks of LSU history. I want him to continue to put elite tape out there for the NFL. I want him to win whatever awards he can since he's basically out of the heisman race. I want LSU to do right by him and by the team and play him, if he is ready to go.

Nuss has the next 2 years to play. Nuss has played more than any LSU backup QB in recent history. Kid has 174 passes over the last 3 years. Brennan didn't have half of that before he started and he lit up his first 3 opponents.

He's got supreme wheels no doubt. He's also a 5th year senior at this point. Are you going to give Nuss a leash that long or are you going to be overly reactive to him as a sophmore?

There’s no “rude awakening”. If Nuss is our QB next year…we’ll be average. Not sure what anyone sees in him besides a big arm. I hope Nuss turns into Tom Brady over the summer but he won’t.

If we don’t find something in the portal…it’ll be same result as this year. Just for different reasons.
