Fortunately for LSU sports, we have three billionaires who are willing to give big money and several multi-millionaires as well. As long as these folks (and others) are willing to ante-up PLUS huge media payouts from the SEC contract, we'll be OK.

How are other schools making it is my question? NCAA has 150+ schools TRYING to be bigtime in several sports and a majority of them do NOT have big media money.

Carson Beck admitted today he hasn’t had a class in two years. He graduated. He’s making bank at Miami.

That is pro football. Not college. This is beyond fricking stupid. Something has to change.

agreed. We already have a pro league (which I don't watch). We don't need another one.

The NFL salary cap is over 200 million. College football can definitely sustain 40 million a year.

Like Belichek said about working with Saban. You learned to work with sleep deprivation.

It’s interesting times. I think the model is unsustainable too.

Time will tell.

Yeah, contracts would be good. If that's what ends up happening, I couldn't see it beginning for a few years at least. How many parties would need to come together to make that happen?

What about players can only receive 1 NIL deal total, and the deal is paid out over the course of their time in college? If they jump to the NFL, whatever remains on their deal is paid out as a lump sum. Just spitballin' ova hea

Agreed. We've all been saying it's unsustainable for a while now. Need limitations to NIL, or binding contracts. Need to limit # of times one can transfer.

And one downvote for "loosing".

But you have to give LSU credit for playing the game how its supposed to be played right now.

100% agree. Take advantage now while you can.

What's going to happen to "Louisiana" in a few years if (or when) they can't field a competent football team?

Then things will be back to normal. The Cajuns don’t have a great history
