These Tuesday night CFP ranking shows are absolutely meaningless

Every single one of them. Last year showed us that they’ll just pick whatever teams they want to be in for political or business reasons, or to create sexy TV storylines or matchups, and pull shite out of their arse to justify it after the fact.
Last year on the Tuesday before CCG weekend the committee had Notre Dame in and Miami out. Had ND ahead of Miami on all 5 of the Tuesday ranking shows. Then flipped them on Selection Sunday even though neither team played a game the day before. So the narrative that tonight’s rankings “are going to tell us a lot” is bullshite. Not even the ones after Thanksgiving can be trusted.
Also it’s so laughable that these ranking reveal shows are even a thing. They could EASILY just unceremoniously drop the rankings on Sunday afternoon just like the AP does. But no, we have to wait until Tuesday night and make a TV show out of it so we can get great ratings on a night with no NFL football to compete with.

I am convinced that there is absolutely nothing y'all will not complain about.
If you don't like it, just don't watch it. Why is a thread needed just to hear you complain about your opinion of something? Some of you must be women.

Yes, it’s meaningless but a lot of fun for these clowns having something to do during the week.

You should start a boycott

The Miami thing happened because of Duke getting the upset win in the ACC Championship game. Duke was getting left out because they had 5 losses already, and the committee didn't want to leave the ACC out completely. Miami winning the head to head over Notre Dame made it a justifiable decision.
The real controversy was that they kept Bama in after they shite the bed in the SEC championship game and had 3 losses. If they had dropped Bama and put both Miami and Notre Dame in, nobody would have cared other than the Gumps.

That's absolutely ridiculous, and spoken like a Bama obsessed LSU fan.
Bama made the SEC Conference title game at 10-2. If Bama were to be eliminated from the playoffs for losing that game, then every single team in a similar spot would just refuse to play the CC game. There is no chance they could devalue the CC game by doing this.
You can replace Bama with LSU, Florida, Texas, anybody....and it would be exactly the same. If LSU would have been 10-2 in that EXACT spot, you would be making a completely different argument. Try to be smarter.

Facts. I keep seeing LSU has the greatest chance of making it as a 9-3 team but I cannot fathom how the committee would put us in over a 9-3 Ole Miss or Kentucky with their H2H wins.

Stop watching them then. No one’s making you.

No, the real controversy was BYU getting left out because they lost the Big 12 championship game. Going into the championship games BYU was 11-1 and ranked 11th in the CFP poll...ahead of Miami. After BYU's loss 10-2 Miami jumped BYU despite not playing a game. Certainly, there was an argument to be made that Miami was more deserving than BYU even with BYU at 11-1 and Miami at 10-2. But if that were the case, then Miami should have been ranked ahead of BYU in the poll before the conf. championship games. It's ridiculous to try to justify that because BYU and Miami at that point each had 2 losses Miami was more deserving when the ONLY reason BYU had a second loss was because they were forced to play an extra game that Miami didn't have to participate in
No team who would otherwise be in the CFP based upon their poll ranking at the time should be penalized for losing a championship game in favor of a team that did not have to risk a loss in such games. That included Alabama last year.
It's why I'm more than happy to see the championship games go by the wayside. That would be the case even if the CFP remained limited to just 12 teams. The conference championship games were the original "made for TV" unnecessary money grab.

LSU has the name. UK and Ole Miss don’t. Same reason Vanderbilt got left out at 10-2 last year.

They shouldn't.
Head to head results are almost always the first "tiebreaker" in sports. If two teams are tied and one team beat the other, that team should win the tiebreaker. There is no better comparison than head to head
