Bring him in if ever needed
If you have Skenes at your disposal and are going to use him tomorrow, he needs to start. It's almost a no-brainer.
Can you imagine the melt here if someone else starts and we get behind 3-0 right off the bat and THEN Skenes comes in? Think about how bad that would look.
You can't afford to dick around and "see what happens". If Skenes can go tomorrow, he gets the ball first.

I don’t think you have any other option but to start Skenes tomorrow, if nothing else bc wake is throwing their ace, and runs could be scarce.

If it’s 5-0 through 4 innings and you bring him in, but the bats can’t do shite against Lowder, then what?
Why are you bringing him in after they score five runs? Whoever starts has a SHORT leash.
This is what people are missing. If you start someone else and it goes to shite quick, ok bring him in before damage is done and have him shut them down.

Skenes will be Skenes whether he starts or comes in after an inning or two.
You may be right. But starters usually throw a hell of a lot more pitches during a gradual warmup than relievers do.

You can avoid this. If there’s a man on first and second with no outs in the first inning, bring Skenes in. You control when he plays.
Why get in that situation to begin with? Listen to yourself.
Just let him start and fricking carve them up. Their 1-2-3 will be shaking their heads and we won’t hear Seven Nation Army past inning one.
Ever heard of momentum? Let Lowder have to carry the whole team. And he fricking can’t.

You can entertain all the people here raising the valid point of why you don’t bring him off the bench, or go with my suggestion and leave everyone happy. Tomato tomato I guess

Why are you waiting till it’s 3-0? You were going to start him anyway. Bring him in I’m the second inning when things go to shite.

Double negative

This is why no one takes you seriously. This is fricking dumb.

Because of the potential huge positive of having him in game 1.

Lol. Ok. It’s perfectly sound.

Their coach said that isn’t a given.

Okay, Paul.
Again, Floyd and Hurd. Bullpen has come around. Team game. Skenes can’t score runs.

So he just warms up before the game and has to be ready immediately sometime between the first inning and the end of the game. And somehow that might save him for the finals. Yep that’s fricking brilliant.

There’s no way you keep your ace in the dugout for a hypothetical game.
Skenes will pitch tomorrow.
Skenes will pitch tomorrow.

No, it’s fricking dumb. If you’re gonna bring him in with 2 on and no outs in the first, just fricking start him and avoid the situation entirely, establish dominance, and carry on.

Woke is throwing the Lowder ace. Your overthinking.

He’s on a level that no other pitcher in college baseball is on. He will be fine and ready if they need him to come in and play while not starting.

Starters aren’t relievers. They need time.

Did you read anything? Not once did I say he shouldn’t pitch tomorrow if we need him.
