I think louisiana and bama as a state are bout the same but yea i disagree with the guy who said alabama is a wealthier state than Louisiana and that their athletics are in way better state in future. If bama is so much better than la the state then what does that make texas and georgia to bama? Their nil should be in another universe from lsu and bama but guess what atm its not esp in 25 class

LNG?
May be wrong but think La is well ahead of AL in the Industrial sector.

He might about industrial sector but its so small difference to matter both our states are turd farms compared to the giant rich ones like texas cali etc

Louisiana has been so incredibly raped by political corruption and good’o baw politicians for the last forever-long that there is nothing worth living there anymore. It isn’t attracting anything good.
There will come a day when it closely and directly affects LSU recruiting. It hasn’t really happened yet but it will.

Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Ohio state and Michigan with USC maybe slipping in and getting 6th spot - recruiting, tradition, NIL, and balls to walls or bust. Honestly, we are in the next 5-10. No reason Georgia, Ohio State, Texas or USC don’t win. Big states with good HS football and unlimited resources. The distance between have and have nots is expanding. Super teams are forming. You got a good player and are #20, here comes NIL and the big dogs to pluck players.
LSU has the #1 recruit in the nation.

LSU has the #1 recruit in Florida.
LSU has the #1 recruit in Louisiana.

LSU has the #1 recruit in Arkansas.

lsu under bk has recruited 5th 7th and a chance in 25 for a top 3 class the same as they always have recruited for decades

In south AL, I'm thinking of big shipyards like Austal and aerospace companies like Airbus. There's also a fair amount of O&G, though not what LA has. Huntsville is a huge aerospace hub with NASA, etc. Then there are several car factories (Honda, Hundai, etc) in the central part of the state. They also have a growing auto part manufacturing and automation industry to support the car factories. They also out-competed LA on some large steel mill projects in recent years.
I agree that LA and AL are still fairly close in terms of GDP and population. Nothing like TX. But my original comment focused on the long-term outlook, and at the moment, I think Bama's on better footing with a more diversified and dynamic economy.
Hopefully LA can turn things around and evolve past being a one-trick pony (O&G).

SMU scares me in this NIL era

Fair enough sharlo i can agree with this statement but from a current ftb nil perspective i think both are about even esp without saban anymore but obvious you are not the one who but bama the ftb program in with the richest nil banks like texas uga it was the guy who started this thread with him i strongly disagree

No doubt, from the current NIL perspective we are ahead of Bama. At least based on everything I've seen. Take it for what it's worth, but the local MS sports radio guys around here say that Bama got behind on NIL just because recruits wanted to play for Saban, so they didn't have to pay as much. Now, they have to try to build up enough funds to compete with GA and the rest of the loaded schools.
Hopefully they are right.

Yeah, I think LSU is just fine with recruiting.
It's amazing how losing one game in the final eight seconds has sent so many fans running for cover and muttering to themselves. I certainly hope the players and coaches have more backbone than a lot of the fans.

There are 5 programs that will take over new era of college football

Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Ohio state and Michigan

LSU's NIL is better than both Michigan's and USC's and our recruiting is currently better

They are 2nd tier like us. They slipped by Idaho. We would have hung Kelly over the side of Tiger Stadium.
Just shut your dumbass up.

Not sure ISC belongs in that group.
They don’t care enough in LA anymore.
Maybe replace them with Oregon
USC (the University of Spoiled Children) has a nationwide alumni base, not a regional one, with many well-healed alumni that want to see the program flourish as past recruiting transgressions will attest. While organizing the alumni efforts (NIL funding) may be an issue, the dollars should not be. With the change to revenue sharing and the move to the B1G (bigger team payouts than SEC media contracts) USC should easily have the dollars to compete in this new world of college sports.
