People here use this as an excuse as to why we will beat them....this year's bama team is no different than any other bama team the last 10 yrs....they will be good and hard to beat , it doesn't matter what crap u tell yourself to make an excuse to win Saturday, bama will expose every weakness we got, we will have to push thru it successfully on the field, oh wait because Joe blow on tiger droppings said on the rant they play a weak schedule so we gonna be up by 14 at halftime...lolol... we will need help to win Saturday from bama .... people here come up with all kinds of front runner reasons why we gonna win....bottom line is we need to stfu and stop with this madness and let the game play on the field...i do have to say I haven't seen this type of koolaid frickery ever... it's insane.. lol

(1) We're fans. We're supposed to debate and talk shite about the game. That's our role.

(2) It doesn't mean much on its face that Bama's SOS has been EMBARRASSINGLY bad. But this Bama team is different from Bama teams of old. This team relies on offense and quarterback play to win. While past Bama teams relied on defense and a dominant rushing attack to win.

To put it into context, Bama has the #10 scoring defense in college football. LSU has the #7 scoring defense in college football. Bama's SOS is #60. LSU's SOS is #6.

The conclusions that one could draw from the above-mentioned facts may not bear out this weekend. But don't fool yourself into thinking that Bama's lack of quality opponents is meaningless.

Well, the Bama SOS does rank about 10th in the SEC and about 30th in the nation. The LSU SOS ranks 2nd on the nation and 1st in the SEC. unfortunately that doesn’t give LSU any bonus points in the game, but it does reveal that LSU has played a much stronger schedule than Bama. That might mean something and then again it might mean nothing. We will know in a few days.

They haven’t played anyone worth a shite except A&M. That’s the truth.

It is pointed out because people are trying to claim they’d beat half the NFL and that they are the greatest college team ever.

Maybe, maybe not. They haven’t had the schedule to know.

OP is scared. This team is not scared. This message board warrior is not scared. Bama not being tested is definitely a factor in LSU favor. Tua being a first year starter playing in Tiger Stadium against a confusing defensive scheme and the best dbs in the country are a factor. we are either good enough to win or we are not. Both teams will be focused no matter what message board warriors say.

I don't think anybody has been saying that Bama has had a weak schedule and they aren't really that good or anything of the sort.

What is being said of the weak schedule is that they have not been tested and that might give LSU some sort of advantage. LSU has faced adversity in big games, has had to prepare for a big time opponent and battled to win those games. They've also learned a lesson by the UF loss.

So think LSU fans are saying that this team can get prepared for a big game/opponent, have a mental toughness, and have been battle tested. This can certainly be an advantage to the Tigers.

I'm not saying that this will help the tigers win by 3 TDs but it could certainly be a factor when Tua and company real pressure this season that they haven't seen yet. Or if they get down by 2 scores and have to make a comeback. Will they have that toughness needed. I know LSU will have the mental toughness to keep fighting, we've seen it.

Now maybe better coaching, preparation, deeper roster, and more talent will eventually overcome all the mental toughness of LSU...who knows. I'm liking LSU's chances though.

If you're saying folks think that because they haven't played anybody and we have we will win due to that and that alone, then I 100% agree. I need to see much more than just that to feel good about our chances.

I'm assuming (hoping lol) you're misconstruing the argument though. They truly haven't played any good teams, while we have had arguably the most daunting schedule in CFB to this point. This is a pro for LSU. It isn't the sole reason for saying LSU will win, but it is a factor.

Let me put it this way... would you feel better about LSU's chances if Bama had played a bunch of good teams and beat them all by 30? Or played a bunch of scrub teams like they have and beat them all by 30?

Pretty cut and dry to me.

Them not playing anybody yet is not an "excuse" that we will win. It's a slight toward the media and vegas who think that Alabama can't lose.

It's not an excuse as to why we will win. It's a point to make that shows that we may have an edge / advantage in this game since our players have been tested more. It doesn't mean we will win.

It is also just part of the analysis:

Tua is very accurate
Bama Field Goal kicking is suspect
Passing game uses multiple receivers
Bama hasn't played a defense with a pulse

It is all part of understanding the season so far. Hell, the fact that LSU HAS played so many good teams is why they are ranked #3 by the committee. If a TOUGH schedule is an important metric...so is a SOFT one.

You can pick apart anyone's schedule if you want to.

The schedule discussion has a place in assessing a team's worth but people are making too much of it in Bama's case.

bama almost certainly gets this week-in and week-out from every fanbase they play... aggie, volunteers, razorbacks and landsharks. The narrative that LSU has poked the bear AND now bama is REALLY mad is only a narrative.

bama will be ready for us AND LSU will be ready for bama. Geaux Tigers.

We damn sure wouldn’t be ranked #3.

Without a doubt. I don't like the argument personally because Bama has completely throttled everyone of those bad teams. It's not like they have had close games by any means. All they can do is play who's in front of them.

Excuse is not the word you are looking for. Justification, reason (or reasoning), opinion, or observation all are words that would work better. And I ask, what excuse do you have as a fan for not believing that this team has better than a punchers chance at beating alabama after observing what LSU has done up to this point.

They are being hailed as the greatest Bama team ever and Tua as the greatest QB ever. All people are saying is that their success is overstated because they haven’t payed anyone remotely good. A&M is by far their toughest opponent, and they are mediocre.

A&M is allowing 3.45 yards per rush attempt this season, better than Bama and LSU. They are allowing 89 yards rushing per game which is 5th in the country and first in the SEC.
