Debatable. We had 2 losses in the SEC. One of which was to AU who mind you was at their hottest point in the season and Cam was on a tear when we played them. Yall played in a weak Pac 10. To say yall were "far" better team is asinine.

You seem like a halfway decent poster, so I'm just going to let you know, most of the responses you are going to get are garbage. There will be some intelligent posters intertwined, but a majority is blah. Just make sure to stick around after the game and check out some of the other boards, there are some good ones like the Movie/TV and Mainly the board that Shall not Be named.

Replying to the wrong guy but yeah. The AU team we played and the one the ducks played was totally different. Cam was on another level when we played them simple as that.

I agree, but am too lazy to show the poster his error. You are right though, LSU had a far tougher path last season and only lost to the NC (which UO did too), and lost to a sugar bowl participant. And both were close. Conversely, UO got to breeze through a PAC1 schedule.

But all that really has nothing to do with UO's "speed or talent", as opposed to "speed AND talent". Those topics are NOT mutually joined at the hip.

the size differential in the trenches.
When was the last True Freshman to start at LSU? It took Peterson the middle of the season before he got the start.

but when he did it was obvious he was the best player on the field. The thing I like with freak besides his physical gifts is his attitude. He has the swag! And is not Humble about it. What kind of competition did freak play against?

The thing that separates the SEC from other conferences is the speed of the D-Lineman.. Every good team in the country normally has good speed at the skill positions.. KeKe Mingo normally is one of the 1st players down on the kickoff and makes the tackle!!! Oregon will not be able to play smash mouth against us, and will have little success running the ball at us unless we allow it. By allowing it, I mean that we may line up in a Cov.2 scheme with only 5 players in the box. This was a MAJOR mistake against Auburn last yr. We allowed around 500 yds rushing to them and played very "Vanilla" all night long and rarely blitzed. We allowed the Auburn offense to dictate the way the game would be played instead of our defense taking control. I still think the Tigers win a close one despite all the distractions. I really like John Chavis, but his game plans against Spread teams and QB's that can run concerns me. This dates all the way back to Matt Mauck in the SEC Championship game vs Tenn. No one used the same defensive game plan we used against Auburn last year, and it failed miserably for us even though we had arguably the best defense in the SEC last year.

We don't just have speed at the skill spots. Our dline has a speed and then some. Jordan, Hanna, and Turner are all very fast ends. Remington and Hart are extremely fast for 280+ dlinemen. Bair ran the 4th fastest 40 time as a DT at the combine and Remington/Hart are very bit as fast as he was.

Dear Bisonduck:

What was your main point? The sizes are comparable across the lines. What matters is how they will play. I do not see size resulting in being over-matched for either team. It will come down to talent and execution.

Bison im sure you have speed, but is it such a hard pill to swallow to say that the SEC has faster big men? Its been proven time and time again for the last decade. Its not to say you don't have speed in the trenches, but its not as good as ours.

Your brethren don't concur. I agree with you. It will be talent and execution.

Look I was born an LSU fan and do I think the Tigers will prevaail. Yes I do. Do I think it will a blowout. NO. Just the oposite. This is going to be one of the best games of the season that will be played at the speed of a hockey game. LSU and Oregon may just be the two fastest teams in the nation.

bisonduck, what is the purpose of this exercise?

I'm sorry, but all your insecure bullshite will not fly.

We are in the SEC, brah. Just quit trying to compare the Pac-10, or whatever y'all call yourselves today, because y'all are generally inferior. Sure, y'all may have had a decent squad , but history is not on y'alls side. Last year, was mostly a media creation around y'all. As far as last year is concerned, I'd venture to say if y'all played Bama, they would have beaten y'alls asses, and they weren't as good as Auburn, obviously. The SEC, is a whole different breed than y'all are accustomed to.

So as evidence, you pull out the picture of some guys who look like some overweight Twinkie heads, and that's the basis of your argument? The damn game is in a few days, so sit back and watch the Tigers probably beat that arse.

I'd imagine our damn d-line is foaming at the mouth.
