Well said. Character and integrity have no place in college football, especially at schools like Alabama and LSU. The administration at the school and the fans across the state could give a shite if Saban (or Miles, or any other coach) were trustworthy or not. Character and integrity are not variables in the equation. If a coach can win championships and recruit like hell, then he can do whatever the hell he wants. It all shows what our culture values most. In some parts of the world, hunger is a big issue, and 4.5 million dollars a year could go a long way in feeding mouths. Here in America, more specifically the South, college football is the issue. And 4.5 million dollars is becoming minimum wage for a coach in the SEC. I'm just sayin. Is it completely backwards? Yeah, it is. But hey, I'm as big of a hypocrite as any, sitting in the stands on Saturdays enjoying my hotdog and worshiping a football game. I know this has little to do with the thread, but the perception of Saban got me thinking.

Is this the same great Saban that got skull-dragged by that awesome program from UTAH. Or the well coached Saban team that lost to IOWA in his last bowl game here? Which great coach is it? And just maybe his undefeated regular season record last year has something to do with NOT having to play FLORIDA until the end. How would he fair having to play them TWICE. And how come the great Saban only escaped last year in overtime with Lee throwing those pick-6. I agree that he is a good coach, but IMO he is given way to much credit for his time here and not enough credit is given to LSU. Why didn't he accomplish jack at Mich. ST? He was OUTCOACHED by Dinardo for pete's sake. So you tell me who benefited more? Saban or LSU. IMHO, i think Saban benefitted more from LSU. HAVE A GREAT DAY.

I question my sanity for this, but anyway...

FYI . . .UF won national championship and, was, if memory is correct 8-4 next year

FYI...LSU wins NC under Saban and, was, if memory is correct, 8-4

and, the 8-5 last year was posted with QB's that weren't penciled in as the starter. . .yep, stuff happens (see OU this year)

but, the point is, losing the guy you plan on hanging your hat on does cause problems

and, that same guy would be a senior this year

The offense could be more productive but I don't think this venue is providing Miles and staff any revelations in that regard

as for the red team being unphased. . .they looked fairly "phased" against UF and Utah last year and they didn't look like anything LSU couldn't compete with and beat last week against USC

LSU has been at its offensive best under Miles and Saban when they could run the ball well . . .under Saban there was a time when the running game was bad but, Rohan was slinging 'em all over the field to compensate . . .that ain't the case this year (or last year either)

That's not the cards LSU's playing with right now . . . my guess is they go 10-2, perhaps 9-3, maybe even 8-4

and maybe things go very well and they run the table and we get another shot at the SEC championship . . . who knows?

regardless, this team is poised to compete for championships . . . great recruiting and a coaching staff that has already documented it can play with and beat the best . . .

so, at the end of the day, and the end of the season I'll still be a Tigah fan and I'll enjoy whatever ride is left for this year

{shrugs shoulders} You cannot argue with stupidity.

I will keep track of this tread and come back to pick up scalps after the season. There will be a lot of crow eating by someone, either me or you guys.

If LSU wins out and/or beats Bama and finishes the season as the West Champs, I will gladly take my medicine. If they lose less games than Bama, I will take my medicine on here. I hope that all of my feelings and projections are wrong. However, all of you guys know deep down that I am right.

ForeLSU, what do u do for a living? Obviously not something that requires you to have much insight.

Just watch LSU and Bama, look at what is going on.

Saban was one of the best college coaches in the country when he left LSU. What most LSU fans don't realize is that he has become a better coach since he left us. Not only does he have the best defensive mind and scheme in college football, but he is one of the best recruiters in the country, and certainly recruits and has an eye for the best defensive talent.

His teams take on his attitude. Ruthless, aggressive, disciplined, and fundamentally sound.

The West is only going to send one team to the SECCG each year. Unfortunately, until Saban leaves, I see Alabama as the SECw team that will be getting most of those bids. They'll also most likely obtain a national title within the next few years as well (could easily be this year).

As much as I hate to admit it, at a gut level I know it is true. As I get older I try to be more accepting of reality and live less in fantasy land.

Facts and loyalty are two seprate issues.

Don't bury the messengers. A true fan wants his team to be at its best. Miles is not getting it done, and Saban is.

I would hope these posts stop if LSU wins out. May I ask what you have seen to indicate that we have any chance of winning out?

Sure they would because those seeing the downturn from the product on the field would likewise have to see an up tick. Especially considering if LSU wins out they will likely be the national champs.

To be clear, I meant the next 6 games. I don't think we'll beat Florida with all of the marbles at stake. But I think we have a chance to win each of the next six games if we take them one at a time. I don't think it's probable, but it is possible. If JJ turns things around and starts playing to his potential, this offense could be lethal. The defense has shown improvement week after week. It's not like we're playing a bunch of perfect teams. Other than Bama, all of our remaining opponents have obvious weaknesses. And, I think we can take it to Bama if our QB plays without fear and with an aggressive streak.

And every coach in the SEC could have done that with the team that was handed to Les.
