we now return to our regularly scheduled BS! :geauxtigers:...
He plays who he thinks is his best option
Absolutely agree
his bank account has nothing to do with who he plays
well, it does if you agree with your first quote since playing who he thinks is his best option is also the most rational to receive a 900K raise, as...
900,000 reasons why LM doesn't play favorites at QB or anywhere else
Posted by t.g.a.t.w. on 1/3/12 at 1:47 pm
I'm pretty sure that every person stepping on the field Monday night (yes, even the QB or QBs) will do so primarily for three reasons:
a) LM (and all involved) wanting a NC;
b) LM wanting to join the elite group of 2 NC head coaches;
c) the 900,000 or so extra Washington's waiting to be signed ...

FYI . . .UF won national championship and, was, if memory is correct 8-4 next year
FYI...LSU wins NC under Saban and, was, if memory is correct, 8-4
and, the 8-5 last year was posted with QB's that weren't penciled in as the star...
You earn respect by sounding and looking competent, and delivering results, so far he only does one of those things
Reply: Really? I'm not sure I agree with your three-pronged criteria for respect but, for the sake of argument, what exactly has he missed? How do...
re: Mingo is so Skinny he looks like KID DYNOMITE Jimmy Walker
Posted by t.g.a.t.w. on 10/5/09 at 9:45 am
Kid Dynomite ran a 21.8 200 m at state track meet his senior year. . .he's going to be real special . . .might even wind up in the Lawrence Taylor mode if they beef him up . . . if he stays at LB he'll be a beast there as well...
re: More fundamentally sound under Miles?
Posted by t.g.a.t.w. on 9/8/09 at 10:25 am
defensive folks don't run pass routes
the question was alluded to the defense being fundamentally sound and my reply addressed the concepts being sound but the execution was not
execution would include some of the things you mentioned...
re: More fundamentally sound under Miles?

What do you mean by fundamentally sound? Saban's defense got "lit up" (e.g., Iowa State, Arkansas, UF in the Zook loss, etc., etc., etc.) more than a few times but, it was still sound in the sense that conceptually it made sense.
Miles' defense under Pelini was fundamentally sound. Miles' defen...
re: Best LSU RB ever??

Cannon ran a 9.4 100 yds (hand timed) . . .not 9.9
He was one of the few players of that era who could still play the same position in today's game . . .his size and speed combination is still a rarity . . .and, this was before the era of scientific weight training...
re: National Championship Expectations
Posted by t.g.a.t.w. on 2/5/09 at 1:25 pm
There you go making sense . . .why play the season if we already know the outcome? fact of the matter is the prognostications are more wrong than right as evidenced by example you didn't reference. . .03 champion started off ranked #12 in case anyone forgot...

"We will find out if Les is a good coach or not"
Good Lord, what does the man need to do that he hasn't already done? Don't talk the 7-5 stuff (actually 8-5) either because we all knew punting your #1 QB would bring some heartburn. Don't forget that UF's record was also 8-5 prior to this year. ...
re: Les Miles still not respected
Posted by t.g.a.t.w. on 9/30/08 at 4:54 pm
why would you take Saban's defense over Miles' Towelie? UGA hammered us at Athens, UF hung close to half a hundred on us, UT at Knoxville and UT in Cotton Bowl had a field day throwing the ball, Iowa burns secondary for last second TD, Ark burns secondary for last second TD
AND, go back and look...

Hello trex1250
Me thinks you have succumbed to what Saban refers to as catastrophe syndrome
Look around...
UGA scored 30 on UA in one half
UA scored 31 on UGA in one half
Ole Miss hangs 31 on UF
UF hangs 30 on Ole Miss
You get the drift. . .anyway, there were some missed tackles the...
re: Is Miles a Top 10 head coach?
Posted by t.g.a.t.w. on 5/8/08 at 12:43 pm
There is no such thing as "Saban's players." Talent that was here was used very well. . .talent that has been recruited shows no signs of dropping off
one other point. ..the HC does very little coaching . . .a better question is: Does LSU have a top 10 coaching staff?
Judging from recruiting...
