Great day to be a Tiger in Gumpland!!
Another nickname for McCryin'. He is from Mobile, and went to St. Paul H.S.
I came up with St. Paulie Girl, some may have never heard of the beer with the same name.
It seems to have stuck with my AU friends- if only a brief distraction for their situation.

...then the unemployment rate will be 2.5 and we become allies with Iran.

I'm with you '73. Listening the the talking heads on WNSP is almost as bad as the Gumps and Updikes themselves.
I have a lot of friends that are Alabama alumni. They aren't as bad due to an education.
I did send out a congrats e-mail to all known Bammers immediately after the game, which seemed to help.
I can't wait until November.

re: Jarrett Lee impressive at former Blue-Gray all-star practice
Posted by tlary on 1/16/12 at 12:48 pm to Jumbeauxlaya
Lee's tangibles:
1. He throws off of his back foot
2. He throws tothe hot 90% of time without looking off the safety
3. He is not a vocal leader
4. He is not mobile
5. Has an average arm at best
You guys that think that Lee is NFL caliber need to get out of the meth lab for a minute and get some fresh air.
As for Jefferson, I just hope he doesn't get my order wrong next time I drive through McDonalds.

It's an Iso Toss Trap.
Made popular and effective by Hershel Walker and Bo Jackson.

Miles intended to play Lee; however, given the game situation and the Bama pass rush, he changed his mind because he thought that Jefferson would give LSU the better chance to win.
What made it a great defensive perfromance? Our offensive scheme. Answer this, if there is no threat from a team to throw te ball down the field, what is a good D.C. going to do? Load the box. Bama played with 9 in the box the entire game. LSU threw downfiled 3 times- 1 caught and 2 bad passes. All three times the receiver was open.
The offensive woes were caused by a great defense
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I could make Ole Miss look like a great defense if I had an offensive scheme that could have been run inside a phone booth.

This is true. They will take their title to the trailer down to Title Mart for a chance to change home field advantage. Plus they travel better than any other SEC team. I use to argue this when I moved to this God forsaken Dixieland, but they prove it every year. They will take 10k-20k to every away game, depending on the matchup.
If you were at Oxford, this is what is looks like for every away game for Bama.

What about Joey Jones??
Posted by tlary on 1/14/11 at 4:08 pm
Jones, 45, is a winner. Hired as the first Head Coach at the University of South Alabama. Just completed their second season against DII and DI-A competition, where is record is an unblimished 17-0.
He came to USA after two years at Birmingham Southern, where he was hired in 2006 to restart the school’s football program there. They competed at the Division III level. He led his 2007 squad of 126 freshmen to a 3-7 overall record, including a pair of wins over established junior college programs.
Before moving into the college ranks, he compiled an impressive 125-38 (.767) record in 13 years at the at the high school level, including a 10-year run at Birmingham’s Mountain Brook High School, where he was 101-27 from 1996-2005.
He is from Mobile, and has recruited well in Auburn, Alabama and LSU's back yard. In only it's second year, he has recruited transfers from Va. Tech and a QB from Oregon State.

LSU has just announced that starting in '11, there will be a $40/person surcharge for intoxicated people to enter the stadium.
There is another $50/person if you sit near a railing.

So we choked the game away when we lost in overtime to the top team in the country?
And "big games" are when a team is in the top ten? You do realize that UF may still win the East this year right? And that MSU is sitting at 7-2.
It's amazing how some are entrenched that they can't see the shite even though they are neck deep into the colon. a 3 loss Fla. and a 7-2 Miss State are now considered big wins.
This Poster is spot on to those of us who have the ability to see the big picture. Mile has lulled you people into a trance with his "smoke & mirrors" record. People fail to admit or recognize what this team has done not only in the truly big games, but how they have finished the season in the last 2 years. I promise you, this year will be no different.

It should mean as much as the previous November matchups with the Gumps when the SEC Championship and possible NC game are on the line.
However we should all wake up!!!!!
We spend time making predictions, discussing possible adjustments, game plans and match ups with other teams.
When game time comes, we are exposed to the same crap, week after week, year after year. The game plan is always underwhelming and so predictable. We all know the definition of insanity, and we continue to believe that changes will be made. Not only do the game plans remain the same, it also appears that the powers that be gameplan to the opponent's strengths (i.e. trying to stop the pass against Auburn). Further, if we are successful in the first half, the opponent always seems to make the necessary adjustments, while we meander through attempting to run out the clock with a 3-6 point lead. On defense we bend, and attempt not to break (not successful, see our red zone defensive numbers).
I love LSU, and will always be a fan. I attend 4-5 home games and a couple of road games every year. I have reached a point where I can't stomach watching this Bafoon make his mark on this team and University.
I will be there, and expect our players to play their hardest, but when it comes to coaching, our guys will not have a prayer. I will cheer the players, for they are truly the only reason LSU is 7-1.

Why do we continue to predict something different than what this idiotic coaching staff has done over and over and over again expecting different results?
If the gme plan was vanilla for Auburn, I'm sure they are secretly planning french vanilla for Bama.
Don't forget the genius defensive game plan in the biggest game of the year was to keep containment outside and leave the middle wide open for Cam.
I can assure you Chavis is planning on stopping McElroy from beating us with the pass. Do they have a running game?

Ole Miss held Bama to 21 points, but gave up 30 something to Jax State. Who the hell knows!
"What is the big deal about Russell Shepard? I don't get it."

just point out our worst season had 8 victories
8 and 9 victories a year and no QB with a Top 5 recruiting class over the last 10 years.
T Boone Pickens had it right in '05 when Miles left OK State: "This is the best day in OSU history and will turn out to be one of the worst for LSU."
Sorry, good men can be bad Coaches. You can support a program, but not the decisions made. That is blind loyalty, which gets you nowhere.
That's the problem Doc. This isn't new. Check out mine from 1 year ago:

I agree. No one can point to any improvements, so they bash. You can be a fan and remain objective at the same time.
Maybe someone can respond to this question. If Russell Shepard and/or Rueban Randall were at Bama or Florida, do you think that they would be a major part of the offensive equation or just VIP spectators?
Can someone explain why we show so many blitz packages in bowl games, but play bend don't break during the regular season? Don't give me the b.s. about prep time (4 weeks vs 5 days). It is proven that if you blitz the average college QB, they are not athletic enough to avoid the blitz and make bad decisions. Blitz packages are learned in spring and August.
If "the product" remains the same, and continues to erode, people will not come. Period.
Tiger Stadium is becoming the "Big House" of the South. Pack 'em in, get rowdy early, and let Miles' game plan take all of the air out of the ballon. Last Saturday night, there was a perfect example. The crowd had long been removed as a factor in the game. It was the 3rd quarter., and Scott ran for 4 yards up the middle. It was the loudest applause since the first quarter. 4 yards and a cloud of dust gets an ovation. Can you say Michigan vs. Northwestern. Now that's football!!
Bottom line, there are coaches across the land that would need a bib if you told them that they could have our talent. These players would contribute immediately with any other system or coach. In Baton Rouge, they become UAW members, and wait their turn according to seniority.
