RC as I suppose. Dude disappeared in Saban’s first year. I have no skin in the game to not say why the frick does anyone care what he does? He had a real nice pro career but there’s a lot of lip stick that has been glossed on to the bullshite. The constant threads about him. How are y’all shocked?

Better pro player than college player that hooked his media wagon to the 2019 team to propel himself into some unofficial role as the mouthpiece for LSUs social issues.

Bc in 2019 he was all LSU.
He and the other LSU ESPN guys touted LSU constantly.
Before that he never really praised LSU except for Pat Peterson and Tyrann.
The 2019 season he remembered he was an LSU guy and that was also his first big year as an ESPN personality (not his first year, mind you… but one of the first years they gave him more screen time).
Then he started the crap against Coach O (love him or hate him) in 2020 during the Covid/George Floyd stuff and via twitter and other social media platforms (albeit not ESPN, but they did not rein him in) insinuating that Coach O and/or our program was racist.
Since then. He has race baited on ESPN and his own social media and podcast platforms on a regular basis.
But honestly my biggest problem with him is the silly insignia he made for himself that he wears with his shitty outfits before Monday night football.

Why y'all always riding RC's jock strap. I think some of you here secretly want him to
. I don't see any other explication for it!

When LSU didn't take his son Jordan, that seemed to lead to bitterness.

He started 36 straight games. He was a great tackler out of the secondary. He had a bunch of 10-tackle games. As a sophomore he led the conference in tackles by a defensive back. He was All Conference on a rebuilding team.
He turned a UFA signing into a nice career and it is true he was better as a pro than in college (late bloomer?), but to say he didn't have a solid, if unspectacular, career at LSU is disingenuous.
(ETA: I do not like him as a commentator, outside of 2019).

What? Regardless of the off-field stuff, this guy was a beast for us in college.
Your post is rich in a thread about revisionist history.

I still think people like him play a character on TV and in the media and don’t believe half the shite they say
They go home to their mansion and their white wives and complain about the same shite we do

Not quite. The combination of Ryan Clark and Demetrius Hookfin got beat regularly. His pro career was much much better than his college career. Now he is just a loud race baiting ESPN clown.

Undrafted player with 13 year pro career. It’s not that difficult to say. He played well on a team that overachieved and won SEC/Sugar Bowl.

I thought this was going to be about how the Rant used to love him. Then a while back opinions changed.
I was an OG Ryan Clark hater here and the Rant used to get mad when I’d talk bad about him. My opinion was made when he talked to one of my classes in college and he seemed like a very uneducated person.

This may be true for others but I don't think this statement applies to RC. RC's wife is not white and I don't think him and I have very much in common, including the things we go home and complain about.
ETA: RC is a good analyst. He loses me (and I assume others) when he gets on ESPN and talks about social issues and not sports. I don't really about his politics or what he posts on his social media. I like him a lot more when he talks about football

Many subjects are emotionally attached to race for him. And some of you can bitch about me pointing that out. But it’s true.
“No one could understand him, and he’s supa’ down south, and all bayou”.
Just imagine if whites had the freedom to talk like Ryan does. He’s got privilege.

quote:So what team took his son and got him drafted? Oh he wasn't drafted after 6 years of tape. Played 5 years at ASU on a team that went 24-30 before hopping to ND in his 6th year.

Boy, LSU whiffed on this future HOF.

Jordan Clark, the son of former NFL safety and ESPN analyst Ryan Clark, has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the New York Jets. He will be competing for a roster spot as a safety and likely at the nickel cornerback position, after playing for Notre Dame and previously for Arizona State.
College Career:
Clark played five seasons at Arizona State and one at Notre Dame, where he was a key part of the Fighting Irish defense as a nickel back

I think like a lot of media, he’s too quick to throw up the victim flag because he knows a lot of people will react like you did. I don’t hate him by any means but I think his outrage is either misplaced or even just conjured out of nothing. He reps LSU well, though, and seems like a decent human when he’s not saying ignorant things. I forgive him for being wrong.
