For those who didn't see, here is the intro and what it looked like on national television!

Thank you everyone who came out and made that environment possible.

Not many saw but DD had a lot of tears on the floor before the competition started! Success couldn't happen to a better person. No she doesn't have that national title yet but if she keeps working hard, it WILL happen extremely soon.

Is LSU gymnastics now what LSU women's basketball was during the Pokey days?

I've finally come to grips with the fact that LSU is golf and gymnastics school.

Proves the LSU fanbase is nothing more than a bunch of bandwagon idiots.

Four years ago you wouldn't have even known LSU had a gymnastics team. They have a coach who had been at LSU 50 years and had never done shite.

Now, they have a couple top 5 finishes and 11,000 people show up for it and they have more tweets than the football team that is hiring an OC.

LSU fans have no loyalty and show no support until a team does good. Pitiful

For LSU fans.

South Carolina sucked in football forever and still sold out their stadium every game. Don't confuse fandom with only being about winning. That is one of the things that makes LSU fans suck so bad.

LSU never truly invested into the gymnastics team until recently. Now she has the tools to advertise and create an exciting environment. LSU was never a top 10 program before because she worked with shitty resources over the past 40 years. Its hard to attract top talent with what she had. Now with better facilities and other upgrades, LSU now has a lot more talent.

But of course winning will haul in top crowds, who wants to show up and watch a team lose every weekend. gymnastics as a sport is growing every year all over the country. So over the years, not only has LSU seen an increase an attendance but almost every other school. LSU has athletes that can perform some of the most difficult skills in the entire world, its a hot spot on campus to see it now

As a current student, I can vouch.

Gymnastics is easily one of, if not the most exciting sport to watch on campus.

Is that an excuse for lack of fandom until they start doing well?

I just find it funny that a bunch of fat beer-swilling people who wouldn't know a "curtsy: if it hit them in the face are now filing in to fill up a stadium to watch gymnastics. They could have done it years ago.

The only reason is bandwagon fans or LSU fans. Nothing else.

BS.

"For the sixth consecutive year the LSU gymnastics program ranked among the nation’s top 10 in home attendance figures as LSU finished sixth this season, GymInfo released Tuesday." This was way back in 2009. Meaning that LSU has been in the Top 10 in attendance since 2003. In 2009, LSU averaged 3,732 fans per meet.
See: LINK

Even in 2014 they were averaging 5600 per meet, 5th in the nation.

You're just hearing about it more because instead of just being in the top-10 rankings, they have finished #2 in the country the past two seasons, and are drawing top-notch recruits from all over the country and world. Also, DD finally got the financial support she needed, getting the finest college gymnastics facility in the country.
As for fat beer-swilling people who wouldn't know a curtsy? Have you EVER been to a meet? A large majority of fans there are families with children who take gymnastics, or just girls who love gymnastics, which goes a long way toward instilling in them a love for LSU.

So, screw you.

Were you born this big an a-hole or did it take a lot of rejection to get there? I'm better the latter.

And last night in 2018 they had 10,755 fans attend. Is Louisiana's population increasing that much?

No, the increase is ONLY because they are NOW WINNING.

What if 10,000 people showed up when they weren't winning. Would it have helped recruiting? Would the recruiting have made the team better?

Now that LSU is doing good the fans who didn't go to the meets before all of a sudden go to be on ESPN3 to show off their super-fandom.

In my opinion if they were super-fans they would have been there showing support before the back-to-back top 2 finishes.

It is just my opinion though and I could be wrong.

It must really suck to be you, Derek.

Go back to 1 of your other alters.

How did Southern Miss do in their gymnastics meet yesterday? Do you even know?

I haven't heard about them breaking attendance records. Are you waiting for them to become a good team before you show up declaring you have always supported the gymnastics team at Southern Miss?

Maybe I just don't know what "bandwagon fan" means. My bad !!!
