That’s a really stupid narrative that people keep running with. No coach is going to ask extremely talented freshman to leave when he’s never spent any time with them on the practice field. I have no idea why they are leaving but stop this dumb “changing the culture” narrative. I guess it helps people cope with us losing talented players. Again, no coach is going to ask freshman to leave that he’s never spent any time with.

Maybe it is because there is no way this many people are dumb enough to believe a coach would run his talented young players off without knowing or seeing anything about them.

Regardless of the reason they’re leaving it seems we will have very little depth next year across the board. I know the clowns with ridiculous expectations on here don’t want to hear it but next year will be a tough season and they probably need to go ahead and come to terms with that before they’re pulling their hair out and bleeding from their vag all over the board when LSU drops a couple games next year.

Yeah next year LSU most likely has a worse record than this year. And all the people parading around right now will want Kelly fired. We have no depth and a few injuries at certain positions will lead to us playing walk ons.

More likely the ones we are transfer k is the kids club is over. They know accountability is back with our program.

If there was ever the perfect post to capture the magical retardation of the Rant, here it is.

This is truly transcendent work

You are brain dead if you genuinely believe this.

Bookmark it. This team is going to be hurting so badly for depth. The real level of retardation of the rant are people like you that think losing all these players is going to make LSU a better team.

LSU needed a guy who could rebuild a program and they got it with Kelly who did it at Cincy and Notre Dame. Rebuilds by their very nature will be excruciating. Losing your starting qb makes it that much harder. If LSU loses TDP it gets that much more rough.

Like I said, with the level in the transfer portal the last year or so tells me something is up....just no one on the board wants to admit it. Blame Orgeron is the easiest thing they could do.

The “changing the culture” narrative isn’t dumb. It’s necessary. That said, I would agreed that I don’t believe these players are being asked to leave. They’re leaving because they don’t like the culture change that they see on the horizon. And if that is the case, they were likely part of the problem. We need better leadership (coaches AND players) as well as players that WANT to be here to go to battle for their teammates.

There’s a few people on here that walk outside and see it raining and blame Ed O.

They haven’t even had a practice so this flat out false. You think in a quick 10 minute introductory meeting Kelly told these guys all this? That’s simply not how it works. Culture change is done through the grind in the offseason. At this point nothing but pleasantries have been exchanged.

Do I believe Kelly will attempt to change the culture? Absolutely. But that process hasn’t started yet.

I don't think it works like that.

I think in most of these cases you have a new coach who comes in and lays down the law with a much different style than the old coach, and the kids leaving get that culture shock and then combine that with what they see of the depth chart and the projection of their future at LSU, and then they make the decision whether they want to buy in with Kelly.

So far, the ones leaving are the ones who look like they'll struggle to fit.

The one who everybody is talking about is Max Johnson, and there are lots of factors in place there. But most important with him is the torn labrum and the surgery. He's going to be out through the summer, and it's pretty obvious he isn't going to fit with an offense that'll shift toward using a running quarterback. All of which means he's almost certainly going to start the season as a backup.

Nobody wants to go from starting to backing up. Almost everybody transfers rather than be in that position. It's why we got Danny Etling.

The other piece is it was likely we'd take a transfer QB.

How the frick do you know this? We have 32 spots to sign kids to between not and August

We'll probably have 75+ scholarship players on the team

Are you saying that the ridiculous amount of LSU players wanting to leave the program is a culture you don't think needs to be changed? Or are just saying that Kelly isn't changing the culture because he isn't asking them to leave? Just because a coach doesn't ask them to leave doesn't mean he's not changing the culture.

Did you see how this LSU team competed against Bama this year? Well, if they COMPETE like that every game next year it will be a very successful season. If LSU have a competent QB, they will be in the hunt.
