It’s not like easy layups were a guarantee today anyway.

The point is that you take the layup so that, if something goes wrong and you miss, you have someone behind you to clean up your miss.

I am happy that the play worked, and it was definitely a punch in the mouth, but it was very risky at that point in the game!

Here's how i see it... I love the fact that Tremont has the confidence to make that play under pressure! It also means that they are still having fun. No it wasn't a layup but not a super high risk play either! Keep playing confident Tremont.... Great job.

It's a statement, team camaraderie, swag decision.

That has value as well, even if not fundamentally sound.

If Bama didn't jack up a couple of 3s to make it closer, that would have been the ending message.

Yet, LSU went right back to fundamentals hitting 6-6 FTs in last 30 seconds to seal it.

I personally thought it was awesome.

Look at it as a 3rd down completion for a first down while trying to run out the clock.

It was questionable with the game on the line.

Yep. Alabama's players gave up on the play as soon as Jimmy Dykes' love child, Riley Norris, threw it away.

But please don't let facts get in the way of dumbass' narrative of it being a questionable play. Otherwise, he won't have anything basketball related about which to gripe.

Or look at it as we're good and going to show it. You better take notice.

I get both sides of this debate. I may appreciate more the confidence aspect with NCAAT starting in just under 3 weeks.

Missed the game bc of work. Anyone have a video clip? The schedule and demands for a college athlete are grueling. I say let them have fun..... but be damn sure u make it!!

I’m cool with it. It’s a nice highlight to show on sportcenter. When a top 5 team gets blown out and #6 also loses, it nice to show an awesome highlight winning a game on the road.

People keep talking about lack of respect and/or hype, this type of highlight helps.

Agree 100%.

LSU is #13 AP - and hopefully meaningless for committee - still could still have some impact.

Anything to highlight LSU is a good thing right now, even if it is aesthetic. Prior to today, UK was a 1, UT a 2 and LSU 3/4 seed.

A lot of that is based in some form of bias. UK got skull dragged today. But they did the same to UT couple weeks back. Both UT and UK had arguably questionable wins recently too.

I want that highlight on SC and to be talked about. Only helps us IMO.

I'm not a grandad, but am plenty old enough to be so I'll give my grandad representing 2 cents worth. I freakin loved it. I am willing to bet that those 2 have practiced that together and can do it with their eyes closed when no one's guarding them. I figure they've been waiting for the opportunity to pull it off at home, but there hasn't been an opportunity and the time left in the season is running down. They both knew they were gonna do it and you can tell that by their body language. It was no riskier then any other slam. Comparing that alley oop to the one they attempted in the Arkansas game is apples to oranges.

That’s not even a dangerous play when you’re the only two players on that side of the court. And the difficulty isn’t all that high. It just looks awesome. Really nothing to get worked up about.
