Lee wasn't great but there was also a LOT of dropped passes in this game

The two good D's LSU played, Bama and UGA, tells the story about the reality of LSU's O. That unit was definitely not a juggernaut and benefited greatly from field position/short fields contributed by the D and special teams.

Uh, he had way worse than that on 11/5. He had 2 INTs on SEVEN ATTEMPTS.

That's why JJ got the starting job back to begin with.

LSU doesn't even make the NCG or win the SEC if Lee was our best option against Bama because WE WOULD HAVE LOST THE FIRST GAME.

JJ didn't win the game, but he didn't lose it for us which Lee was well on his way to doing.

He let us play ball control and let the D and ST win it for us.

That was the plan on 1/9, but AJ played the game of his life and kept nickel and diming us for FGs and not letting us get field posistion.

That was the difference in the game. Not our QB play. Lee would have only sped up our slow death in that game.

Pretty much.

The things I liked about JJ was he had toughness and could run, not as an option QB, but he had enough quickness and strength to gain tough yardage at times. If he had ever developed in the passing game who knows how the O could have improved. Whatever happened to him on 1/9 is unknown, but I am sure looking across the line and seeing the D in perfect position to stop whatever call was made and being bludgeoned the entire game contributed to it.

I think what subby is really saying is that we crush TCU even if the offense is still coming together.

Are people forgetting how dominate our running game was that game? We could have thrown the ball 5 times and still won. Ford and ware were getting 10 yards a pop the 2nd half. I do agree that lee was not great though. It was funny everybody freaking out over that Randall td that was really a wounded duck thrown in his general direction that he happened to make a play on

I bet people on here were singing the praises of that 2011 offense all the way until the SEC champ game, I was busy telling everyone it wasn't good enough to win the national championship

As bad as Lee may have appeared, Jefferson was much worse

If half the self proclaimed experts would rewatch games, they'd realize they don't know what the frick they're talking about the majority of the time. You can't process a game watching it live. There's too much emotion. We had two very mediocre QBs in 2011 that our coaching staff miraculously hid on our way to the best season in LSU history. The result of a Rematch against a D like Bama's should have been obvious to everyone, but I for one admit I never imagined how well AJ could play in that game. With his play and our D/ST not making a big play to swing momentum in our favor, we truly never had a shot.

Yep. This is what I'm saying.

Please just stop with "he got us" crap.

Our QB play didn't get is anywhere no matter who handled the job.

I like Lee, but he couldn't do shite against Alabama in four years of trying. He has no one to blame for the staff having NO confidence in his ability against Alabama but him.

Lee was terrible in THAT game but pretty much every game after that, he was consistent and made some great plays.
Somebody missed Kentucky.

We would have not gotten that with JJ behind center in the beginning.
Jefferson's first start was about 2X better and the opp D ranked higher than UO's.
His first 3 starts were all above 450yds of total O, including almost 500yds vs BCS#3, also ranked higher in D than UO.
Just facts.
