What is this crap? Every time LSU steps on the field it matters. Against Kansas St, Kent St, or Ohio St, they all count.

I get it we’re going through a coaching change and the program is turning over, but we have a nationally televised P5 matchup coming up. LSU would’ve killed for that in the 90s.

Can we stop the spoiled children attitude and look forward to a football game?

Yeah Bowl games had alot more meaning in those days. They were a reward for a great season but now it's the participation trophy mentality for this bowl game season. Just sayin. I will watch but excited I am not

Need to expand the playoffs and cancel the .500 team bowl games.

We have 40-50 scholarship players available, and several of them have played little to none. Sure, it would be meaningful to have a nearly full squad to compete but it's pretty meaningless given the circumstances.

From an entertainment standpoint, I'd love them to play. But, it's kinda silly when you think about it.

I think this game is going to be a great showcase for our younger players. Excited to see them take the field.

All the more reason to play the game.

After Moo last year and UCLA this year, LSU has played nothing but meaningless games. This one's no different.

So 7-6, 6-7, 0-12... they’re all the same right? Championship or bust?

Exactly! People quickly forgot what LSU was pre-Saban. Be fricking grateful that we’re in a bowl game in position to finish above .500. We could be a real HAS BEEN program like USC MIAMI OR FSU.

Bowls don’t mean as much now that we have the playoffs, there are 60 bowls, and any team with 6 wins can get in. Only going to get worse with NIL, transfer portal, and handlers. A shame. College football was best thing going then they decided to let the inmates run the prison. Figure of speech. No racist or referring anything

Well in 1995 (midpoint of your 1990s date range) there were 18 bowl games. Today, there are 42.

Sorry, but nearly every one of those 24 extra bowls are indeed meaningless, whether LSU plays in them or not.

It is possible for a game to be meaningless in the grand scheme but still highly enjoyable and something to look forward to watching. Once people acknowledge non-playoff games are really just one last time to watch your team play this year and have little bearing on anything, the pearl clutching will stop.

Everyone saying this are the same ones who bitch when our star players “opt out” in the beginning of the season.

Anything worth doing, is worth doing right! If LSU is going to play in this bowl game, they better play well. No point in going out there and get embarrassed. It matters to me!

In 1976 LSU went 6-4-1(Mississippi State later forfeited) no bowl.
That backfield had Terry Robiskie and Charles Alexander in it.
1980 Jerry Stovall's 1st season went 7-4 no bowl, 2 losses late in the season killed any chance at a major bowl.
I'm not getting excited at a 6-6 season and going to a bowl game just to go.

I watch all the bowl games because I love college football. Some of the most entertaining games are between some teams that are 6-6 or 7-5. I also watch the MAC games and the PAC 12 After Dark games during the season.

It's silly to whine about too many bowl games, 'meaningless" games, "participation trophies" or whatever. If you don't want to watch....don't.
