It's the last thing fans wanted too, its not our fault we are in the spot we are in I don't feel bad for him.

Do what you have to to get the Ws, or step aside

Does anybody here really think Miles gives a shite about his job at this point? He blatantly lied to the AD when he told him that he would change the offensive philosophy. We will know for certain when Harris trots out as the starter against MSU that he doesn't give even 1 shite about his job.
Today's winner!!
If he had a remote hint of enthusiasm about keeping his job, Les should have been glad Etling came in. I honestly think he got a call when the booing started and was pressured to make the change, hence the sour face.
Sad that it's come to the point of someone else having to grab the wheel.

it was fun to watch LSU FB starting in the 2d qtr Sat night. Etling looked in complete command. Comfortable with the plays, sets and reads/checkdowns. He side-stepped the rush, and made some nice throws.

All this.....and consider this...how does having something like that affect the defense (something they haven't had in several years), it can only be in a good way.

Scary thought when you consider the "his" here refers to Leslie Mile and the "program" here refers to LSU

Absolutely! OFF was able to sustain drives, give the D a breather, impact field pos, and get some points. Just breeds confidence throughout the team.

Opportunity knocks CLM, it does not kick the door down...will be interesting to see how this week unfolds.

The fact there is a controversy to begin with should count as another nail in Miles coffin,
Obviously more prepared to play.
Obvious difference in decision making
Obvious change in offensive timing on all plays, run or pass

The only QB question right now is if Harris is 2nd or 3rd string.

Harris may be more physically gifted, but Etling looks to be a better quarterback. Physical gifts are useless if you don't know how to use them.

the truth of the matter is this. Miles has changed/tweaked the offense some. However, the time to do so was five years ago.

Miles killed his job by not changing with the times. He's always been that way, even when it comes to staff changes. Any change in LSU football has had to be forced on Miles. Chavis, Stud, every other coach on staff was held far too long and changes were only made when the fans/ad started to get disgruntled. That doesn't make him a bad person, but it's hurt him slowly over time.

It's too little too late. miles' fate was sealed when he was given the ultimatum. There wasn't enough time to make a significant adjustment to the offense and Miles knows this.

Miles could have been a top 5 coach still if he just made these minor changes as they became an issue. Maybe he saw them and refused. Maybe he couldn't see them. Maybe he had some bad luck. Only he knows this answer. At least he's made a small fortune coaching here the last 10 years. He can still make a boatload of cash if he retires rather than is fired. Given his track record and his track record of stubbornness, it will be interesting to see which path he chooses.

Nope....just to Miles

BH is more talented and maybe better in practice. Etling is better on game day. We'll probably need BH to come in at some point but Etling is the better option right now.

Its a poor man's Applewhite/Simms QB controversy.

All of this is just more fuel to the fire under Miles' seat and he knows it. I think that is why his demeanor is less than pleasant right now.

well, he's had three years to develop BH and has failed to do anything, so I have a hard time feeling sorry for him.

and this is why I don't feel sorry for him. either recruit a QB that actually fits your philosophy or design your offense around what you have. this fitting a square peg into a round hole bullshite has run its course

Have to disagree. Some players look great in practice and not so much when the lights come on. Coaches see them in practice 95% of the time and game time 5%. Fans see games only. Can't blame a coach for believing what he sees, just as you can't blame fans for believing what they see.

I've said it all along, that's the worst thing that could've happen this year.

Etling is nothing special, this is a 8-9 win team at best

Then he should've started Etling versus Wisconsin.

I mean, he had to know Etling was a better option, right? If not, we can move this to the coaching changes board.

Seriously, Miles hasn't even named Etling the starter now after Saturday's game...Miles is creating and then maintaining any perceived QB controversy all on his own. Same old crap as always with this guy.
