First, the articles I've read said that the ruling in the Luis situation was a preliminary injunction NOT a TRO (temporary restraining order). The injunction is much stronger than a TRO so for the chicken littles/trolls on this board, you lose credibility using the wrong term...and multiple people are making that mistake BTW.

"Definition of TRO and Preliminary Injunction

A TRO is typically issued to provide immediate relief, often without notice to the other party, and lasts for a short duration, typically no longer than 14 days.

On the other hand, a preliminary injunction is a more formal court order that is issued after a hearing with both parties present. It serves a similar purpose to a TRO but generally lasts longer, often until the conclusion of the trial. A preliminary injunction requires the party seeking it to prove that they are likely to succeed on the merits of the case, will suffer irreparable harm without it, and that the harm to the moving party outweighs the harm to the other party.

But please, trolls, continue with your anti-LSU nonsense. I'm not a lawyer but I know better than to believe your crap!

NCAA screwed up.
This class was screwed on the 5 for 5 ruling.
Freak this charade of amateur college sports. Nothing but an overpriced NFL G League that the billionaires will own within 5 years.
SPACE-X Tigers in Musk Stadium. Everybody gets at least 500k, including scout team. $200 million a year NIL (even though nobody would recognize these guys if they spit in your face walking down the street.)

Elaborating on this - LSU players are heading to court for the ultimate protection on August 31st

You are on to something here. We need to welcome Musk with good ole cajun open arms and hospitality. Get him hooked on boudin and sauce piquante and bring him to the camp in Pecan Island. Make him a donor

The 5 for 5 ruling was the safest haven that the NCAA could think of doing and didn't have to screw these "seniors". The NCAA could have avoided all this mess if they had issued that policy a few months before they did. But to come out with that in June AFTER the NFL draft for example gave the 2022 recruiting class no opportunity to make an informed decision...this is what Lane Kiffin has said and he is 100% correct.

He's going to play until they get it back in court and prove why him playing is bad.

Perfect answer, and the OPINIONS that I've seen in columns said that with the speed of the normal court proceedings says that IF he is ruled ineligible ultimately it would be after the basketball season. And I just don't buy the chicken littles warnings that LSU would have to vacate wins.

If you haven't listened to him and his media sessions, you should. I'm a math guy and hope to pride myself on "attention to details". Just listen to him talk about situational football and I will give you a very simple example.

? to him from reporter: "If you win the coin toss will you take the ball or defer."
Kiffin: "We will decide based upon our offense, their defense, their offense, and our defense. Most of the time we would probably take the ball."

The previous coaches I remember didn't analyze that. Their standard answer was "we will defer." Once again, attention to detail.

It's a preliminary injunction to allow him to play until his case can be heard. I expect the NCAA to fight it; when that plays out will depend on the court system and when it gets placed on the docket.

The same is true in the Trinada Chambliss case. Of course, the court docket in Mississippi will be full until after the football season.

The next court hearing for the college football players' temporary restraining order (TRO) against the NCAA is scheduled for August 31, 2026, in Louisiana's 19th Judicial District Court. That is where they will seek to get an injunction.
