The Joe Brady "Smoke and Mirrors" narrative on this board

LSU 2018
Pass yds per game: 228.5 (7th in SEC, 68th in NCAA)
Total Pass TD: 17 (11th in SEC, 88th in NCAA)
Points per game: 32.4 (7th in SEC, 38th in NCAA)
LSU 2019
Pass yds per game: 401.6 (1st in SEC, 2nd in NCAA)
Total Pass TD: 61 (1st in NCAA)
Points per game: 48.4 (1st in NCAA)
It should be noted that Joe Burrow, CEH, Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson were on both of these teams with Ensminger as the OC. And yes, while players obviously improve from year to year, I think it's safe to assume the huge discrepancy in stats from 2018-2019 is based more on just improvement.
Hell just go back and watch the offensive sets we're running in 2018 and 2020 and compare that to what we were doing in 2019. No matter how many people want to shortchange Brady because he's likely not coming back here as OC, it's ridiculous to say that he didn't have a hugely positive impact on our offense.
He would be a welcome addition as an OC if we can somehow get him back.

The Brady backlash has been ridiculous

Good post. Amazing that some don't see it that way.

Let’s get him back as WR coach and Co-OC. He still has a lot to learn, but his potential is ridiculous. His work with receivers here was unlike anything seen before, and bringing him in as Co-OC allows him to learn a little more on play calling and would allow him to have a similar role as to 2019. Wouldn’t be mad at all if he came back

Everyone knows this only the retards think Brady's time in Carolina turned him into a bad play caller. But I don't think he's who Kelly is after

Joe Brady = Game Genie
Steve Ensminger = 6yr old trying to beat Contra

I want you to please explain what he specifically needs to learn about playcalling.

2019 Joe Burrow was worlds better than 2018 Joe Burrow. Brady didnt have a thing to do with QB development, Ensminger and Jorge Munoz worked with the QBs.
2018 Chase was hurt.
Brady did a great job w the WRs but being the mastermind behind the success...nah.

You don't go from 17 touchdowns to 61 in the matter of a year by yourself bruh.
Brady had a big hand in that as passing game coordinator.

I do not understand it either, but I also understand what Brady was able to do what he did in 1 year with a lot of experienced players, a generational QB and Slinger minding the store.
Here is the big question with Brady, can he develop QBs and teach an offense to inexperienced players? That is the rub I believe.

We can get him back the call just needs to be made but to this point it hasn’t and Miami is pushing hard for him.

Brady also brought the “vanilla” version of the Saints offensive plays. I think people hear “Joe Brady’s offense” and assume he called the plays. He instilled the NFL-type offensive plays from the Saints. Ensminger had the strategy for utilizing the plays.

When did this start? I just assume people saying this shite about Brady are fricking morons in general.
Also, these idiots think Brady got fired in Carolina cause of poor performance. Supposedly that’s not why he got fired.
Hell he got more good games out of Darnold early this year than Darnold had his entire career with Jets. He had that backup looking competent also until they decided to bring in Cam and tank the season.

This is true to some degree. Even Slinger admitted Brady was calling some plays and series. Again, the issue with Brady is not if he is a good offensive mind, it is can he teach it to inexperienced players? That is the task. It is not sprinkling in some NFL concepts to basically a experienced group of NFL talent.

Simply he failed at Carolina but he is the one that gave us Peetz. So, that is two dings on his judgement.

What does this even mean? Burrow had one year of mediocre starting play under him. Marshall and Chase were true sophomores.
I honestly don’t understand this argument. You could literally make this argument for any first time OC or DC.

One of the most significant stats you can reference is the drop rate from 2018-2019. Sure does make stats look alot better when your open receivers catch the ball that's thrown into their chest. Not to mention, Chase went from a Mustang in speed to a Ferrari from 2018-2019.

Did he? I’d say he did a decent job considering what he was working with and the fact that the head coach accidentally admitted they fricked up the Mac Jones thing.
Rumor the main NFL guy on The Ringer heard from people is that Brady was let go cause they didn’t like he was listening to offers for other jobs or some shite. I think Rhule used him as a scapegoat.

It’s very simple and it’s 90+% of the negative Rant narratives you see. It’s sour grapes, Brady left and a large portion of the Rant will look for reasons to discredit and attack him for it. This happens with every coach who leaves or is fired from LSU and intensifies for someone like Brady who was so successful then left on his own. Nobody does butt hurt like the Rant.
