We can have little league baseball. Recreation sports, (Lacrosse, football, soccer, etc.) MLB, NBA . School, beaches, protests, riots, but no college football?

A college kid can work at wal mart as a cashier, bagging groceries, but It’s to dangerous to play football.

It’s really laughable. frick it have no fans. I don’t care. Just play the fricking games. This whole thing has turned into a political circus. It’s really disgusting. You think it’s a coincidence that conferences up north and out west are probably going to cancel.

how do college athletic conferences have any say in any of those other things? This isn't hypocrisy: you need to look up the definition if you think it is.

Is it not hypocritical to tell the players of the Big 10 you can’t play football, but your buddy working at Home Depot every day can still go to work?
What about telling coaches you can’t coach, but the coaches sister can still visit a restaurant (limited capacity) and go get her nails done?

Do you not see the disparity here? How can some people still go to work and send their kids to school, and that’s ok, but it’s not ok for kids with every imaginable medical resource not to play football?
The hypocrisy is glaring to me.

Better yet, how about 13 of the Big Ten schools returning to classes on campus in a few weeks? So, we can't have football, but 30,000 students walking around on campus is somehow better?

I'm still waiting for the data showing football players are anymore susceptible to the virus than anyone else.

Yeah. Nothing with COVID makes sense or is consistent.
I am still awaiting a response from all the panicked Covidians as to why, if this virus is so deadly and contagious, have we not shut down the entire country for 24 months until no one has the virus?
If it saves just one life right? I’m talking complete shut down and home confinement. Don’t even allow people to venture out for food or water.

Liquor stores are considered essential businesses.

Change the team names to BLM or ANTIFA, topple the Shaq statue, burn Mikes cage and execute a cop at halftime. There would be no restrictions at all.

And this is where the true issue lies......."cafeteria science."

Just a week ago, Rep. John Lewis' funeral created an exemption to Washington political officials who wanted to attend while us peasants wouldn't have been able to attend. Meanwhile, my grandma's funeral a few months back only allowed up to 10 people to where we had family members sit in a car and watch from across the street because they couldn't make the cut. In Louisiana, I can't go to a bar to have a beer by myself. But Tiger Stadium and Cajun Field can open at 50% where there are 50,000 and 20,000 people sitting in one setting.

Meanwhile, I have two cousins starting college in Lafayette next week where they will both be walking around 15-20,000 students at any given part of the day. What about the liability on them?

My opinion in all of this is either open it all or close it all. All of these "in-between" decisions confuses people and gives more ammo to those who say this whole thing is a joke.

Exactly. Hell shut every college and University down. If it isn't safe for football players then it can't be safe for regular students.

Fukc Democrats.

Exactly. No, the Democrats would definitely claim that abortion clinics are "essential". Lol.

Covid-19 exists.

The reaction and Democrat exploitation of Covid-19 is a fraud. The numbers quoted are manipulated to try to keep the sheep in line. Think not?

The same fricking Democrat scumbags who allowed the destruction of their own cities while holding back their own Police and calling RIOTS a "Peaceful Protest" are the same ones trying to keep the economy crippled and prevent businesses and schools from reopening.
They want power at any expense.

Hell,Nancy says it is OK for Bums to crap in the streets and shoot Heroin on the street corner.

To Hell with all of those turds.

As unlikely as this sounds, there is a good reason for it. Folks in the medical community do not need alcoholics unable to get they're "fix" and filling up emergency rooms while doctors and nurses are dealing with the virus related issues they're already overwhelmed with. Its sad but nevertheless true.

Is this actually happening? Because I can almost understand saying "if students aren't returning, then we can't just make an exception for student athletes".

Yup, these schools have announced that students will return this Fall on campus.

Guess they’ll just wait for the collapse of the US economy so they can blame it all on Trump.
