Absolutely not true. There’s a good chance he’ll be the betting favorite after this weekend.

It's not decided in September

Never said it was. But it’s a largely statistical award. And he is currently behind the 8-ball when it comes to that.

Carson Beck is going to win the Heisman because Miami plays nobody and he'll have the stats and team record

As long as his Heisman moment isn’t against us.

What part of what you’ve seen thus far makes you think that Kelly will just unleash him, in favor of playing conservatively and winning with defense? If he starts piling up huge numbers, I can almost assure you it’s because we’re trailing in games and likely losing them,

It's a big moments in big games award

He could put up 20 TDs against Southeastern and that wouldn't and shouldn't move the needle

It would at the end of the year when voters are looking at the stats and he’s got 20 more TD than the next closest guy. Overalls statistics matter.

Nobody has ever won or lost a Heisman trophy vs cupcakes in September.

That being said, that stat line vs SLU was borderline elite-

25/31 273 & 3 + a rushing TD? At least 3 of the incompletions were drops.

If Nuss leads us to a playoff he could very well be in the running. There's a reason he's still top 5 or 6 in the odds to win it.

What leads you to believe he will accrue the necessary stats to win the Heisman if we play ball control offense and lean on our defense to win games? Like I said if he puts up numbers, we will have lost a few games. There’s nothing wrong with it, but our likeliest path to success is managing the game and not losing it with dumb mistakes.

Are any of the Heisman voters going to care what he did against a fcs school?

Through 4 games he’s thrown 6 tds….

Nuss won’t smell the Heisman!

Is what it is. I just hope he doesn’t turn the ball over and waste this defense.

He's not even a very good qb. I don't think a Heisman is in the cards for him.

You just got through saying he lost the Heisman bc he didnt put up big stats vs those teams. Now they dont care? Nuss played more or less a perfect game vs SLU adjusted for drops... just pointing that out.

We still gotta face a high powered Lane Kiffin offense, Sellers, Aggie, Pavia, Bama, and if healthy Mateer. plenty of time for Nuss to get his and he will probably need to to lead us to the promise land.

agree with you ab our defense.. i think they are generational.. but Heisman is still mostly a team award. Seasons like JD5 are the exception and not the rule. I say that holding a big Nuss4Heisman ticket, so take with a grain of salt.
