The hate for McMahan is real and ridiculous.

The guy's first year and he inherited a team that had no good players basically. If you thought his Murry State players would dominate in the sec, your an idiot. The man has to recruit, get nil going and the transfer portal going. WILL WADE ran this program into the ground. So quit all the ww dick sucking, your gheyness is showing!

Woody, no need to defend your hire. His record speaks for itself. He has seven more years of security to make it work. That is enough security to offset the criticism/doubt. He has the Ball, and plenty of time on the clock, let's see if he can score

Fwiw a chunk of this board said Murray st would have beat LSU last year.
Also not playing Ward for the majority of the season was an objective mistake.

As a season ticket holder I will 100% give coach the benefit of the doubt. But he better crush it in the portal and he better be working the NIL angle to the point of tampering, especially if it only gives you a 3 games suspension. He’s current signees are underwhelming, the freshmen this year are works in progress but none look like all sec material. So the outlook is fairly grim for the next 2 years

Until he can figure out how to run an offense consistently and inject some life into the team, it will continue to be a disappointing product.
Said this many times before, Wade has nothing to do with McMahon being a below average coach currently. I am rooting for McMahon to do well because I am an LSU fan first, but this whole blame Will Wade every time McMahon falls short is getting old.
Hopefully, they build some positive momentum these last few games and he kills the portal because having a tournament quality basketball team is enjoyable.

You're (or your )mistaken if you think the bulk of the criticism is actual hate for McMahon. A lot of people are disappointed with the team's performance this season, regardless of how they feel about McMahon. Most of the hateful posts that I have seen are from either the anti-Woodward crowd (because McMahon seems to be the only one they can go to now) or the Wade fanboys (not everyone who liked Wade but the one who seem to like Wade more than LSU).
The team's performance has not helped McMahon's acceptance by LSU basketball fans. The coach always bears responsibility for the team's overall performance, Even if the players may be a part or even most of the problem (not saying they are here). It is up to the coach to rectify that situation.

I don’t think anyone hates McMahon. You’re exactly right. He seems like a really good person.
There just needs to be a little common sense on both sides. This roster is not an NCAA tourney, SEC championship roster. But it’s also not a last place roster. A lot of that has to do with lack of coaching.
People should be fine with giving him a little time. But I am not someone who believes that he deserves 5 years if this trend continues.

WW ran this program into the center of this Earth and gave the program and LSU two black eyes of which nation wide media and everyone knew about! He had 1 good season before nil with illegal recruiting amongst other things you idiots will never know about
