A friend of mine switches from satellite to a HD antenna when games are on local stations b/c the picture is better. Have you tried that for ABC games?
Whether you buy cable or satellite, the picture is still coming from your network affiliate. Ours, KLAX, is a piece of shite and has no HD feed, OTA or otherwise. I've watched some games OTA when camping, and it's still pretty terrible. They managed to get through the digital switch without an HD signal and have a picture that looks like 1972.

I still dont understand the decision by ESPN to put these games on ESPN and not a national channel. What is the point?

because they want to encourage cable TV subscriptions.

ESPN gets almost $5 per subscriber per month for every cable household that receives that channel

Remember what happened when the NFL network decided to try that one? Congress threatened to hold hearings and they caved. Watch it happen again.

2.) ABC will have "Big Brother" or something getting the female watchers.

Do not speak on behalf of us.

However, I don't care who airs the game. I'll be sitting pretty in the dome.

One of the Baton Rouge Television stations may be able to buy the feed from ESPN to allow their non-cable/satellite customers to watch the game. A deal would have to be worked out soon.

Throws a wrench in my tailgating outside the dome with the hd projector like I did in '07. I remember some showing place had their cox mess up and we picked up like 20 stranger tiger fans, lol.

Ahhhhhhhhh! Thanks for the heads up chicken. After living a couple of years without a TV, I bought one days before the Oregon game without cable, and was quite pleased with the number of games I was able to watch with ABC/CBS/and SEC broadcasts.

I guess I will not be having a party for the game at my house after all!

Dude, it gets worse, the bowl lineup has 2 ABC games, 1 fox, and 1 CBS,

All others, you guessed it, a station containing ESPN in the name.

That's retarted that the National Champonship games does not come on network TV (ABC). It's almost guarantee higher ratings on ABC than ESPN.
