By 2021 you could have one of the more dominant LSU OL in a long time.

LT: Rosenthal
LG: Kardell Thomas
C: Martinez/Hines
RG: Bradford
RT: Dumervil

Assuming we get Dumervil you would have two athletic bookend tackles with who I believe could be a devastating pair road grading guards in Thomas and Bradford. The talent level has dramatically increased with that unit. I’m excited to see them develop once our upper class guys move on.

Tackles. We need tackles to close the deal.

I really want to see Thomas on the field. I really like him. He was a big time LSU recruit and he pimped LSU to as many recruits as he could. Seems like he has a great chance of being elite at the college level too.

It's almost unbelievable how with a stone age running offense and a coach who played offensive that we didnt have a full cuprobard of Olineman

Charles and Deculus will both be back for their senior years. Neither is NFL ready but both could be that way with another year of experience. Deculus’ future is without a doubt inside and most likely so is Charles’ but I can see Saahdiq having a future as a swing tackle in the NFL. It may be more beneficial to Deculus to ask to play inside next year to give scouts tape and try a young guy at RT.

Brennan should have plenty of protection to do what he does best.

the title of this thread should be: At this time it looks like the future of the OL is not bright unless we get some more big time OL's in this class or from somewhere

that's a young inexperienced OL but where is the depth going to come from? Lewis, Magee, Traore, and Campbell are all seniors. Cush, Charles, Deculus, and Ingrahm are all elibible to leave and 3 of those 4 most likely will. If they leave, where will the depth come from? WE most likely will have Rosenthal, Thomas, Hines, Ingram and Wire left to right. Backed by Dumervill, Martinez, Bradford, and Perry. Jackson is a longshot to develop at OT and cant count on Turner at center. That gives us 9 OL's most of whom, other than Rosenthal, Ingram, and Hines, have little or no experience. WE better get some more OL's in this class, a lot more, some JUCO's and maybe a transfer or two. OL is going to be a problem next year unless we do something and even worse the year after when Ingram and Hines leave, unless steps are taken this year. You really don't want to HAVE to play freshman on the OL.

we better hope so or Brennan is going to get crushed.

Maybe we can sign some more DL's and move them to the o-line. I know that is the plan with Jackson but I question his footwork, quickness, athleticism and coordination to play OT.

Turner looks to be to small and can't snap the ball out the shotgun and Parker is to light to play on the OL.

Really you need to look a couple years a head when signing OL's and we only took 3 last year in , Bradford, Perry, and Thomas. Looks like this year will only be Dumervill and Martinez at this point. That makes 5 over two recruiting classes. NOt nearly enough. Should get 4-5 quality OL's in every recruiting class.

I don't understand this obsession with hating on Deculus.

Huh?
I'm guessing from this gibberish you're implying the cupboard should still be full from the previous regime that exited long ago?
Even if every OL recruit panned out every year this is just ridiculous and that lame excuse for the pre-Brady scheme has expired.

I doubt three out of Cush, Charles, Deculus and Ingram go pro this year. Ingram probably stays because he’s barely played in two years. I think the staff will convince one tackle to stay, and I think that will be Charles, because I think Deculus is just more NFL ready.

If that is the case, then Dare and Charles gives us our starting tackles next year. We have plenty of interior guys with Hines at center, Ingram at guard and probably Kardell at guard. That’s a great line assuming Kardell is up to snuff.

For depth we have Bradford, Jackson and Perry plus a bunch of freshmen who I don’t think you can count on. We just don’t know how the young guys are developing, but the coaches do. And one thing this staff has proved is that if we have a weakness they will address it. You can’t address imminent offensive line weakness with freshmen, so that leaves the transfer portal. The sign that our staff feels confident in Kardell, Perry, Jackson, and Bradford is if they sign 25. If they sign less that means they are leaving a spot open for an offensive lineman.

does anybody know exactly what happened to Kardell and what injury he sustained that required surgery? i know it was lower leg, correct? just hoping it wasn’t another of those godforsaken high ankle sprains. seems like his recovery is going well but again...high ankle sprain.

If I were coach I would explain his options. One screw up and you are gone. Go for the draft of get dedicated. We need full time players.

Nah deculus would be the tackle to stay.
You can tell he loves college and wouldn't make a quick decision like Charles.
Charles seems more reactionary

Think they both stay
