I’ll be at all 3 games this weekend. The new Dudy Noble is absolutely amazing. You can walk around the whole stadium on one level. Tons of students were there. They allow you to bring coolers in and don’t really check to see what is in them. SRO tickets are like $5. Only complaint is the food options are limited although kids were fine since they’ve got chic fil a.

I still think the Econo Lodge sitting behind left field looks a little silly though.

Basically takes a page out of one of my favorite sales books ever: make things as easy as possible on people if you want them to buy whatever you’re selling. LSU, on the other hand, makes parking a gigantic pain in the arse coupled with a 6 mile walk, makes you walk up and down 30 flights of stairs to get to your seats, has annoying/rude ushers and gate policies, and has a terrible student section. Why anyone would make baseball of all sports that difficult to enjoy is beyond me, I wish they’d just demolish the new Box and start over

I’ve only seen it on tv, but it looks like an amazing ballpark. They hit a home run with it. Hopefully we can own it for the season.

My roommate from college was the principal architect so I’m biased but I agree. We went out to his right field lounge to watch a few innings. Each lounge had grills blazing. Incredible atmosphere

That 1/3 of an inning must have been fun to be there in person despite the 8 2/3 of of sphincter tightness.

Well stated. LSU definitely needs to look at the experience at the Box. Not only does it fall well short compared to the newer stadiums, it’s just really not a pleasant experience for all the reasons you mentioned. The ushers are mostly straight up asshats just because they can be. The people at the gate for the most part are ridiculous as well

Are the lounges with the bbq pits rented out? Season tickets? First come, first served?

They’re like a suite in that you “own” them until you want out. I’ll try to find out how much they are per year

yes, that makes your whole thread very biased

That’s pretty neat though. It’s an amazing ballpark and definitely on my bucket list of LSU away games, any sport.

The only problem I have at the Box are the ushers.

Florida’s new ball park was great as well. You can walk around the entire field, lounge/lawn seating everywhere. Food trucks and concessions behind the outfield walls.

Also for the younger ones, they had an Astro turf UF replica baseball field for the kids to play on.

LSU built the new Box before this new idea of letting people enjoy the whole experience of going to a game. The box was about SEATS. People want to have a good time outside of just the game. It gets the WHOLE family out, not just the die hard fans.

Absolutely no reason LSU can’t build something like that. The fan base and interest are there. Fans go to games for the “experience” otherwise they would just watch from home. Your couch is and always will be the best seat in the house.
No doubt in my mind boosters and former players wouldn’t get behind/invest if administration told them “We’re gonna build the best ballpark with the best fan experience in the country but we need your help”.
Don’t get me wrong Alex Box is packed with passionate fans that love the game but what is the draw for a great fan experience?? Chris Guillot yelling and the K Lady prancing around?? I have nothing against them and love their passion but let’s get real. Dudy Noble is on another planet compared to the house that Skip built.
Make it happen Scott
