It gives me great pleasure that even after four pages I get to be the one to point out your use of this clear tell of an unmitigated imbecile.

Amazing that despite that embarrassing display of your complete lack of intelligence, that is one of the least ridiculous parts of your entire lengthy and completely misguided post.

Now we all point and laugh at ctiger69 while he attempts to unwrap the riddle of what he did wrong:

You forgot to list LSU.

let’s look at how other teams performed vs that same 2011 Bama team.

The 2003 team lost to Florida 19-7 and didn't score any offensive points in that game. That Florida team lost five games, allowed more offensive points to every opponent it faced and more overall points to every opponent except Florida A&M and San Jose St.

The 2007 team lost to Kentucky and Arkansas, allowing (and scoring) 27 and 28 points, respectively, in regulation. Kentucky lost five games, scored fewer points against South Carolina and Mississippi State and allowed more points in eight of their games. They lost three games by double digits. Arkansas also lost five games, scored fewer points against Auburn, Tennessee and Missouri and allowed more points in six of their games. They lost to Kentucky by two touchdowns at home and were blown out by Tennessee and Missouri.

The 2001 Miami Hurricanes scored only 18 points against Boston College. BC allowed more points to four of its opponents, including Navy.

I would not even rank the 2011 team as a top 5 LSU team all time

No team would rank in anybody's top 5 or 10 or whatever if it was judged solely by its worst game and compared to the other opponents of whoever it played in that game. Rank the 2017 LSU and Alabama teams solely on their games against Auburn, and we would have finished in the top ten, definitely ahead of Alabama.

The point is that judging a team based solely on one game is almost as stupid as saying the 2011 team wasn't great. Almost. But you covered your bases by doing both.

The 2011 LSU team were SEC champs which they deserve credit for but stop this “might of been” greatest team of all time talk

Okay. Okay. Might have been. Is that better?

Jesus Christ man. They faced the #1 rated schedule in terms of difficulty and won every single game. And by an average of 28 fricking points. You're basing your entire argument on one fricking game in which every LSU fan who is not a fricking dumbass knows there was something seriously off that night. Whether it be locker room drama or just poor preparation or coaching (which we know for a fact was present that night). That was NOT the same team that steamrolled through the entire season.

2011 may not have been the best LSU team ever but it most certainly was a great team, which your subject line states it was not. fricking idiotic. And besides, this seems pretty out of the blue. What made you wake up and decide to make an idiot of yourself?

If we had something other than blind retreads running our offense we probably would have been alright.

I get every one says given how much the offense struggled over the years and the awful performance was vs Alabama in the BCSCG.

But in our anger I think most miss just how good that Bama defense was. They were the first in 25 years to lead on all categories. Yeah Miles offense sucked. Do you think Urban Meyers O sucked? JJ was bad, what about Tebow? Saban held 2009 Florida to 13 in the SECCG. Clemson’s O has been great, he held them to 6 this year. He does that shite to everyone especially in rematches. Give the devil his due

Actually that offense is LSU #3 all time in offensive scoring and had a ridiculous 92%+ RZ eff.

Highest avg scoring margin season at LSU since facemasks.

giving Bama every psychological advantage going into the rematch when in reality, and I don't care how good your team is, it is awfully difficult to beat a great team twice - and that's what the 2011 LSU team was required to do.

This right here is the single most important fact over any other regarding rematches between great teams. The previously beaten squad always has a significant motivational advantage. Nothing, other than significant injuries, even approaches this aspect of a rematch.

You just moved into the top 5 retard idiots on this site. There's only one reason why this team isn't the best team of all time, and that's the ineptness of Lester Miles having any offensive game plan against the gumps in the NC. His inability with 4 wks preparation was as bad as any coach in history with the talent we had on that team, minus the qb! Beat 8 ranked teams that year, dominated auburnt, florsux and uga (especially the 2nd half). Les Miles alone is responsible for blowing the opportunity to have LSU in the discussion all time greatest teams, period. Sccrew the gumps again.

Your argument is that LSU played poorly in one game. That’s literally your only argument. You mention the SEC championship—and yeah, they only had 30 yards passing and the special teams “bailed them out.” Special teams is still a part of the team and when one aspect of the game is struggling, the other two make big plays and change the game. That’s what great teams do.

I guess by your logic the 2003 wasn’t great either—they lost to unranked Florida.

Or 2006. They lost twice.

Or 2007. They lost twice—one against an unranked team with a losing record.

Just a horrible, horrible thread.

Looking at this from the outside, that 2011 team was outstanding defensively and in special teams but the offense was very pedestrian. They didn't do anything great.

The consensus amount Bama fans and I concur. The 2008 florida team was maybe the best I ever saw in person. Miami in 83 and 01 would be in that group as well. All 3 phases were excellent.

As far as LSU goes, the talk we have is about the 03 LSU team. That is by far the best team I've ever seen in baton rouge. Defensively,... stifling, offensively,... ran the ball great, no missed blocks, qb was so dam effective at moving the chains, They didn't make stupid mistakes. Qb always put LSU in the right play. They just beat u down one play at a time and u were powerless to stop it.
