The reason many fans and people in the media state if LSUs 2011 team was the greatest regular season team was because look at who they beat, the rose bowl winner in Oregon, the Orange bowl winner in WVU, the cotton bowl winner in Arkansas, the capital one bowl winner in Georgia. And the BCS national champion in Alabama. The 2011 team was a great one, did miles screw it up at the end in the BCS game? Of course. But to say the team wasn't great is flat out wrong and ignorant.

Read the first sentence of the opening post. I gave them credit for being SEC champs. But they are not a top 5 all time LSU team in my book.

You're right! The whole season and one of the best defenses statisticcly should be ignored because of one game that Bama should've never been allowed to play in!

I know people think mentioning Katrina is just an excuse for Miles, but having the first month of the season disrupted with 3 games moved is a BIG deal, especially for a control freak like Saban. So is playing 11 weeks in a row. Even with the doomsday machine he’s built at Alabama he’s only finished undefeated once.
I think Saban wins in 2006 but we don’t go undefeated then either. He loses 1 of Florida and Auburn but the schedule that year was brutal. 4 SEC road games vs ranked teams.
2007 he probably wins but would some guys that stayed have gone pro if we won in 06 and who does he have at backup QB? I don’t think he would have signed Perriloux who did have to play the SECCG

The TEAM would have been rated one of the best of all times with a victory because the win would have given them a 14-0 Season.
THE TEAM didn't lose that game. THE frickTARD of a Coach lost that game for the team.
So LSU still broke a record that season with the GREATEST frickING DUMBASS OF A COACH in College Football history.

Personally No because I don’t think teams that don’t win their conference let alone division should be in the playoffs. However since the powers that be do not have that standard the BETTER put other team whether LSU, Auburn, Michigan State whoever in other wise we’ll know it’s really just bias for certain established programs

It’s amazing you don’t even realize how contradictory and stupid that first statement is. It’s also sad that some of hate Les Miles so much when his “crime” is that he wasn’t better than the GOAT CFB coach who he not only succeeded at LSU but then had to complete against him at Alafreakingbama.
He had a shitty game plan on offense against an all time great defense. It sucks but lots of even great coaches have gotten their arse kicked in big games. Urban Meyer had Tim Tebow and lost to Saban by 3 TDS in the SECCG. It happens shitty break for LSU to have to play them twice but a bad coach would not have been remotely close to that game and 13-0 season. That’s something you will find out over the next few years I assure you.
