I swear I wonder if you people actually watch the games. Outside of the first drive in the first quarter and overtime, Texas’ offense was pedestrian at best.

Well we had a Heisman trophy winner last year and a 4000 yard passer this year. I don't agree. Denbrock still runs the same concepts at Notre Dame. Usually BK prefers dual threat though.

Ohio St also has more talent upfront & in the secondary. It's obvious the talent discrepancy on defense between our Tigers & these playoff teams.

But their execution was crap. It was starting to look like us against A&M 2nd half

Honestly, for the talent they have and Sark's supposed genius, I've found their offense outside the Tennessee game to be pretty meh this year.

I did think their D was one of the best in the country, ASU seemed to wear them down by the 4th quarter though.

Even with the on paper edge on talent, Texas offense scored 17 points in regulation.

And I'm sure the first drive in OT is exactly how they drew it up. Incomplete, rush for no gain, 2 yard pass, false start, TD on 4th and 13.

ASU was dumb for sending the house on that 4th and 13 play after tipping their hand on the false start. Texas knew it was coming at that point, if ASU drops into zone, it's game over.

Disagree and I'm not that impressed with Ewers. Their defense is pretty damn good but I'm not impressed with their offense and actually think it's their limiting factor.

There’s a pretty significant divergence in their chosen offenses now. Denbrock left and immediately went back to what he was doing at Cincy before coming to LSU- lots of 2 and 3 TE sets and an offense that’s a bit more conservative and less focused on WR play and skill. And his QB is far more of a running than a real passing threat.

One might think in hindsight that’s a big reason WHY Denbrock left. I think it’s pretty clear that we aren’t running that here and Kelly has accepted that we will play either 4 WRs or 11 personnel, with an occasional 12 depending on TE depth and skill. With the WR talent available in and around LA, it just makes sense. I think we may move back toward QBs with more mobility in the future, but I don’t think we will ever have a run-focused QB as a full-time starter.

Maybe Denbrock was fine adjusting his scheme for a while, especially for an offensive group like he had, but decided to move on when it became clear he could never run his typical offense here. I just think it’s telling that he went somewhere he knew would let him run what he’s been known for over the last decade.

And if the safety wasn't frozen in time staring into the backfield instead of staying deeper than the receiver, they still may have had a chance to win.

Not really, Sark first half scripted plays are good but after halftime they have a hard time putting away team.

Wtf. Texas offense is the only reason they’re not better than they are. Their defense carries them, their offense leaves A LOT to be desired.

And of all games to make this post, their offense was pretty mediocre/bad vs ArizonaSt

I thought Kelly's offense, not Brian Kelly, was the best I've seen in a while.
