It is if Kelly doesn’t call it because it’s just as likely to be thrown to the dugout as near the strike zone

Well if he has another one I am struggling to find it

He just struck out a hitter with two well placed sliders/slurves.

Apparently career head coaches don’t have your knowledge.

you constantly defend him because he can throw 2 different fastballs? Everyone knows that’s not good enough to be an SEC starter.

It’s not defending him, he has deficiencies that need to be addressed. It’s pointing out that people are wrong to say he’s a one pitch pitcher.

He just struck a guy out with one and had a few more close to the zone. Try again

I’m learning that his heavy one is flat and accurate. The fastball that moves a lot is usually a ball. I’m sure that’s easily figured out by hitters on tape. He’ll be fine if he can just throw some off speed around the zone to change timing and mindset.

You’re incorrect those FB’s they hit were flat. They aren’t all flat but those were. His FB is good but it isn’t that good.

This is not good. Already taxing the bullpen.

You’re arguing the technicalities of the complaint instead of the spirit of the complaint.

Yes he throws multiple fastballs but they’re not different enough to fool hitters at this level and you know it. If you can’t truly change speeds and change planes while staying in the zone then you can’t make it as a starter at this level.

I’ve seen mediocre to decent breaking stuff from Floyd on occasion that I think would work to keep hitters off the fastball. I just don’t understand why he/Kelly doesn’t show it more.

I’m not claiming to know more than Johnson. Fans are allowed to question some decisions though. I just don’t understand why he is our #2 starter. I think he should come out of the bullpen until he develops a second (or third technically) pitch

If Taylor can somehow get to the 7th, that would be huge.
