He was talking about Aaron Rogers and the Packers not being ready against Minnesota last week and said, "Great QB's would get in their teammates face...."

Then the 1st QB mentioned was Bert Jones...next was Kenny Stabler...mentioned Troy Aikman and Tom Brady.

Nice mention of The Ruston Rifle.

Bert also a really cool and nice dude. Met him several times in Ruston and always just a good guy. I bet Tom Brady isn’t as cool.

Makes since that a guy from Shreveport would be aware of a guy from Ruston.

Why so surprised? Bill Belichick called him as one of the GOATs.

Terry likes Bert Jones. They are same era, same North La. roots, played in AFC.

Terry probably realizes that Bert on his Steelers probably wins 2-4 Super Bowls. Bert was a badass QB.

Bert's girlfriend was a student PE teacher at my junior high school in the 70's.

And they were 4 years apart in age, Terry was the "big man on campus" at Tech while Bert was in HS, and they played 10 years in the league together, which was a smaller, more exclusive club back then, particularly the QBs.

This reminds me of a particular time in history - at one point in the late 70s/early 80s, there was a shockingly high number of starting NFL QBs with some sort of Louisiana connection (either by birth, HS ball and/or college ball) - Bradshaw, Bert Jones, Joe Ferguson, Doug Williams, Woodley (his one year at Miami), and I think there were a few more on the list - amazing considering Louisiana has never been more than a point and a half of the overall U.S. population.

Bert Jones was the best LSU QB I had ever seen until Joe Burrow came along. Jamarcus Russell would be third.
