Okay here's the article from the Daily Revelle earlier this week that must have spurred the question to Miles from the reporter: LINK

Actually to a great extent it is Crowton's fault because he the play caller and the quarterback's coach.

no
d byrd could run like 2 routes, and only 1 well (the fly route)
d byrd quit on the team in 2008 also
he fell b/c he didn't work on being a WR or teammate

While I agree completely with the above, if you are Miles, what are you telling potential receiver recruits? "We have a want to get our receivers the ball and will do so when the situation presents itself???" The stats speak for themselves. Unless the kid is a die-hard LSU fan from birth, he would be nuts not to look elsewhere. Our receivers are not going to get national recognition catching 2-3 passes a game. These kids are trying to get to the NFL and we don't appear to be helping them right now.

i thought you were going to say that the coaches are dissatisfied with his alligator arms.

JJ should be trying to get the ball to Toliver more.
I don't blame him for being dissatisfied with the number of times he is seeing the ball.
Especially the number of times he is seeing the ball downfield where he can do some damage.

this is true. At least two of J.Lee's pick-sixes that season where balls that hit Byrd in the hands. Tuurrrrrble

I don't know, D Byrd went from a 1st round draft pick going into his final season to a 5th round draft pick because of the lack of production his senior year, and if I'm a LSU recruit I'm looking hard where these boys are getting drafted, and if I see the 5 star number one rated WR in high school like Toliver was his senior year being drafted in the lower rounds of the NFL draft, then that may be a school I want to avoid.
By the way, D Byrd wasn't a 5th rounder because of his accident and ended up getting drafted in the 7th round by the Chargers, so hold your fire, I'm aware of that.
then how do you explain lafel? three star guy who developed into a 2nd round pick?

i loved d byrd in 2007. i am not a miles or crowton fan, but i won't say they killed his pro prospects
not after his performance in 2008

What is wrong with the IDIOTs on this site ? TT is not happy with HIS PLAY ! HIS PLAY ! LISTEN, READ ! he is NOT saying he is unhappy with the team or how many balls he is getting. IDIOTS.

It's funny to me that you guys get mad at this guy for expressing his feelings, I think Toliver is conversely sayin that y'all can go frick yourselves also. The guy is big, strong, and can run after the catch for his size as proven last year, but has hardly been thrown to in his career at LSU.
at other schools he would be their main weapon, not once when LSU has gotten in the redzone have I seen them throw to him in the corner one on one with the CB to out jump him for a TD, just that lousy attempt Jefferson badly underthrew to him against MSU I think. The guy has a right to be pissed off!

i didn't even read the links b/c the OP has proven to have a horrible opinion (by using d byrd)
i'll actually give the coaches credit for being able to get so much out of a guy who could essentially only run straight playing WR (his only other viable route was a slant that he was given, basically, due to his deep threat)

I just don't like the way they use their receivers there, most of them talented, but i also realize that they are still having problems finding someone to throw to them!
Posted on 9/23/10 at 8:47 am to Raparooot
TT is famous for running lazy routes. If he worked harder he may get more chances.
