The main thing that people want is to beat top tier teams. Win championships.
Everyone will be happy if we do those things. If we go out and beat up on directional schools and SEC bottom feeders then the offense sputters against real competition, this is what will bring out all doubters.
And this is what the fanbase if concerned with. Most of us believe that is how it will play out. In most cases I don't think it is an issue of wanting LSU to fail.
We just want to succeed in the highest order. Not mediocrity.

I am surprised so many here honestly thought this whole thing would go in a different direction. There were tons of posts here that knew we were just going to hire steve and run some jet sweeps next year with Ensminger.

Look, I’m not an Orgeron homer. We each have our own point that is reached where we say that enough I’m done. O has not reached that point with me. I’m trying to do my best at not listening to what he is saying and just watching the product on the field. If I see a drastic change in that then I will say it’s time for a change. I was one of the last to jump off of the Les ship. Im a son of a coach so I understand what they have to go through. Last year I saw good things. Really since O took over I have seen good things on the field. There was the flip the script season were we blew people out. Played the tough ones tougher than we had. And then this year saw I more progress through out the season as we made our way back from injuries and lack of depth and again played the tough ones tough again. At times we played some really good football last year. Do I think it can be better. Yes! Football is all about RPO offenses. The teams that are going to the playoffs are RPO offenses. So now I see LSU saying we are gonna go with an RPO offense. I understand I will be constant back and forth and I am here to say I’m with you. I’m just not at the same point of frustration that some are. It’s ok to agree to disagree and cheer our asses off.

I think that it's pretty good that the players actually like playing for their coaches. who would have figured that!. well maybe next year we can try to recruit some players that hate the coaches. that should workout nice.

I like the spirit but we beat one FBS team who had a winning record last year and did not conduct a coaching search this off season.
I am not sure how we could be content with the direction the program is heading.

Our fans are in denial with the incompetence

Oh I understand. But we can’t hold the schedule against him. Still finished 9-4 and if we beat Troy 10-3. That’s the only one I was upset about. Gotta win that game. I understand with Miss st. Every once in a while your gonna run into a buzz saw on the road in the sec. I think we are better than that but I overlook it more than Troy. But I move on from it. 9-4 and I’m good. shite, 9-4 beat Troy means 10-3. Make some damn field goals and it’s 11-2 beating ND.

And how exactly are you any more qualified to make that determination than a “kid” who happens to be the #1 receiver in the country?

So we need to be the #1 WR in the country to read Ensminger's resume?
If you want to play this game though, why can't we trust the wisdom of the hundreds of coaches that passed on offering him an OC position over the past 20 years?
Posted on 1/16/18 at 7:14 pm to Mustang99
So, we already signed a 5 star receiver that was privvy to Enslinger being the OC.....AND we are about to sign another 5 star receiver based on Enslinger being OC. What do these boys know that none of you clowns in the fan base yet understand?
How many 5 star receivers did Les sign? Curious

Oregon told everyone that it was Ensminger after the A&M game.
I have no idea why anyone ever thought it would be someone else.
Because at the time, that made no kind of sense. It only does now because we're traumatized. Battered Fan Syndrome.

Then why did O flat out lie to the fan base? If he wanted to pick and chose his coaches just say so but don’t insult the fan base by telling them you will get the best and then say screw it im hiring my friend.

It's the simple fact that there was no substantive search that's a problem.

know what O said about Canada and I agree with everything about Canada. I liked his offense. I liked Canada. But unfortunately he and O did not get along. O is the boss. I am a business owner and if someone that I employ does not get along with me they are gone. Regaurdless of how good they are. In Os case it came to how Canada his job and how he called plays. O didn’t like it so he gone. Now moving forward. I’m really excited about the possibility of having either Brennan or Narcaisse in a RPO offense which is the type of offense that I think I have wanted at LSU over Anything.
It was $3 mil frick up that landed us rt back with the staff that couldnt beat bama or florida.
How is this ok? You guys have posted a bunch of conman bullshite.

this is the problem. The record was 9-4. you could sit here and pick apart the other games and say we could lose to uf or to auburn. We didnt. but they did lose to troy.

They had already told me that after you sign, it will be coach [Steve] Ensminger as the OC.
This is why we missed on Justin Rogers and will more than likely miss on Foster. No QB in this class because Coach O couldn't keep his plans to change OCs at the end of the season to himself. This is where he shows he wasn't ready to lead a program like LSU. Now if we don't sign Gunnel and/or another top prospect at QB for 19 (which is already a thin class at QB) we are screwed once again at the QB position.
