I do know one thing... If you can imagine CEO being as stupid as his most ardent enemies on this board think he is he is still more football smart than 99% of the people on this board. I feel condfident saying there are no NCAA FBS head coaches or assistants on this board... players and former players yes but not many.

What makes you think Dave Aranda thinks so highly of Ed O?
You don't think him staying at LSU has to do with those ten million things we like to call USD?

Seems to me that money and Dave Aranda's faith in Ed O's lack of job security (in turn giving himself a great opportunity to be HC of LSU) are keeping Aranda here.

Also, I too am from Calcasieu Parish. I don't understand why there are so many O supporters around these parts. Is it his connection to McNeese bc of his sons?

The CFB world pretty much turned on the LSU fan base for wanting Les removed but I think most agreed that the "river boat gambler" had lost his nerve and we had reached a plateau. It happened to Landry and Bowden and they were far more accomplished than Les.
I can dissect the good and bad of each hire and/or decision, but I do believe that ultimately O and Alleva have instilled an insider culture that is counter to sustained success. I see how they can manufacture some positive short term outcomes but I just don't see a blueprint for success making decisions that are safe and comfortable.

And truthfully I’m a fishing guide on Big Lake. So my employees are me, myself and I. The way you speak of the matter sounds of that of an employee. Because I promise you as a business owner that if one of my employees was going out there and tarnishing my brand we would have a problem. You do know that "not getting along with a boss" and "tarnishing a brand" are two completely different issues right?
Canada in no way tarnished O's "brand". So you should choose your initial statements a tad wiser.
Remember when Jerry Jones was feuding with Jimmy Johnson and let him go bc of that? Care to remind me where that got the good ole dictator Mr Jones?
We can also produce another example of feelings getting in the way of successful situations.

It’s not pointless. People are not disagreeing with me. They disagree with the employment of Ed O and his promotion on E to OC. I’m just trying to show everyone that we as fans have NO idea what we are talking about. By posting that I’m showing you that it’s not just here. Fans have control issues and they want to have a say so or ok every decision. Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way so just come to terms with that and it makes accepting everything much easier.

Most people actually agree with how I think. It’s just the vocal minority or group-thinkers that disagree. It’s all good though. I love the passion. The main part that upsets me most is I hope LSU comes out and throws it all over the yard and Runs up the score board. I would hope that is what every fan would want but I don’t think it is. I feel some fans want LSU to not be successful so that the coach and LSU will get fired. That’s the problem I have with most. Bitch and complain all you want but you better have your as in a seat cheering late into the 4th quarter. People continue to bitch but aren’t holding up to what being a fan is.

Speak for yourself.
You have this idea in your head that only people that are athletic directors can determine who's a good coach and who isn't. and only coaches can determine who is a good coach and who isn't.
It doesn't take someone in government to know when a politician is corrupt or incompetent, it doesn't take a chef to determine if a dish is flat out horrible, and it doesn't take someone in coaching to see when they're making poor choices or decisions. If you can't see it then that's fine for you but you can't speak for others.
