Clearly in terms of evolutionary biology, straight is going to be the super-dominant trait.

But humans are weird and lots of things can influence sexuality, and I don't just mean straight/gay sexuality. Just look at this in terms of heterosexual kinks.

We still don't know where kinks come from, but they're real and are associated with some sort of excitement/dopamine trigger in response to stimuli at some point in life. I know one theory is that exposure at a certain point of sexual development basically imprints that moving forward.

But I think we can all look back to our childhoods and, looking back, clearly identify kids who were gay before sexual development. Clearly some have some sort of biological quirk that makes them that way.

Then there are the people who have sexuality influenced by sexual abuse. This can manifest itself in all sorts of weird ways (not all sexually). But clearly there is an association for some with adult homosexuality manifesting from childhood abuse.

Then you can get into the extreme stuff like serial killers, extreme BDSM, etc.

And I'm a straight hetero male who is fully vanilla. This isn't some defense of self. It's all strange/different to me. Sexuality in humans is weird and we still aren't close to figuring it out.
