The problem is that it's in his head now, and the spotlight is shining even brighter on him. Also I think he deserves every bit of criticism that he gets. You can no longer say that they are just kids and student athletes. Once NIL came along these guys became professional athletes.

I hate the LSU fans who are trolling Thompson's twitter with hateful messages. Kid has played poorly offensively and had a rough day defensively but damn some fans don't know how to fricking act and its disgraceful.

Last night I thought he was going to be the hero. But it got drastically worse. He is going to be an important part of the game one way or the other.

I really hope that he finds a barrel and comes up with a big RBI hit. That will just set the entire team on fire and more important than that give us production from the bottom part of the lineup.

Those people are NOT "fans".
They are trolls, and most likely idiots that don't even support LSU. I hope Jordan and the rest of the team have learned by now to stay off Twitter and ignore these low-lifes

So you want a bunch of puppets that only pump sunshine about LSU?
Word on the rant has a way of getting around. Maybe a little sunshine pumping is what Thompson needs right now.

I agree that I don't consider them "True Fans" but unfortunately the players, media, etc. do label them as fans and ruin the reputation of true LSU fans.

Yes, Thompson is struggling, but he's our best option at SS or Jay wouldn't be playing him. He deserves all the support from Tiger fans he can get when he takes the field and I'm fully in his corner and believe he's going to come through for this team tonight. If I didn't believe that I wouldn't bother watching the game or consider myself a fan. Anyone can bitch and complain, but JT hasn't given up or made excuses and I refuse to give up on him.

I would stop flip flopping Jordan and Dugas and play more normal depth at both 2B and SS

I support all of our athletes that wear the Purple & Gold. I am tired of seeing disrespect for Jordan Thompson.
I am too, and although his performance has been hampered by his struggles at the plate and fielding as well, there’s NOBODY more disappointed than Jordan Thompson himself. He’s not doing this on purpose. He’s going all out, and this kind of personal attacks on Jordan Thompson is not only UGLY UGLY UGLY, and selfish, it’s also counter productive to getting him out of his struggles.
People who’ve attacked this kid personally like that are what is truly UGLY in all of this.

He isn't coming out the lineup. Let's roll with who got us here. LFG Jordan you can do this.

No one will be pulling harder for JT than I will tonight. We ALL want him to succeed. But pointing out poor play isn’t rude. It’s being honest. There is no need to attack the guy personally. He works his arse off and wants to win. Unfortunately for him, his teammates, and the fans, it’s been horrible to watch. It’s a hell of a lot more than “a bad game”
I don't think anyone wants him to fail on a personal level. But you can't ignore that he has been the worst player for LSU throughout the entire series, not just yesterday. Perhaps having the worst CWS that any LSU player has ever had.
It's gotten to the point that they are essentially having to work around him and just hoping that any time he is involved in the action it doesn't end in disaster. Yesterday wasn't his first critical error of the CWS. It was, unfortunately, the first time LSU couldn't work around it.
In game 1 he booted what should have been an easy game winning out that allowed the Tenn. 9th to continue. If the next batter hits the ball a few inches right or left, Tenn is bringing the tying run to the plate in a game that should have been over.
In the second game vs Tenn., it was 2-0 LSU in the 7th. He boots an easy ground ball that would have been the 3rd out to allow the bases to become loaded. Luckily Hurd was able to get out of the jam. He then hits into what should have been an easy inning-ending DP that ultimately would have prevented LSU from scoring a run.
He's had at least one play that looked like a tailor-made DP, only for it not to be because of a lazy toss to the SS (Dugas in that situation).
Yesterday was simply a disaster. And that's not even discussing the woes at the plate. Given the fact LSU has played so many games in the CWS this year, it is entirely possible his 1-30 is the single worst hitting performance in the history of the event. Even on the two occasions Johnson tried to mitigate that by having him bunt, he weakly popped those up for easy outs without advancing the runner.
You feel for him from a personal level because I'm sure he's upset by hurting the team. But at some point the TEAM matters. And you have one guy who is not only not contributing, but giving valuable runs/chances to the opponent.

I hope Thompson rebounds and has a great game.
However,
These players are no longer amateurs. They’re paid athletes… criticism, in the heat of the moment especially, is warranted. Within reason.

Hell yeah I'm riding with JT. Hopefully the dam has burst and he will give us the multi-tool contribution we need from him.

You do you. I just don't understand what public criticism of your own team/players does for you other than make the player feel worse than he already does.
