A dumb question. Obviously they lose games like this all the time

Sometimes you just have a bad game and Johnson was playing with the lineup
The weather was shitty and for whatever reason they just had tons of pop-ups. They also left the bases loaded in the first 2 innings. They had tons of walks but just no hits until the 8th. It was just a weird game.

I could have sworn that one of Skip’s national championship teams lost a game to Louisiana College, but I don’t see it indicated in that post. Can’t remember the year. Playing 70-75 games a season, every team is going to lose a game or two like this. It’s inevitable. Nothing to get overly concerned about.

I don't understand this comment. I'm anti-fascist. Fascism is bad. I like democracy and healthy opposition. I didn't understand how calling someone anti-fascist is an insult. You can call me that all day.

That team was legit. Came in 43-17 and beat LSU in the winner bracket game. We had to beat them twice to make the CWS, and the second game was a nail biter if I recall correctly thru about the 6-7th inning. The winner take all game USA ran out of pitching.

Context matters
Most of those were midweek when using pitchers and some players that don’t see the field in the post season
Yesterday was game two of a weekend series and you were no-hit on your home field through 8 2/3 innings.
There should be some alarm bells going off. It’s these types of things that you look back on as early signs of deficiencies that led to shortcomings in the season.

LSU should stop playing McNeese State.

quote:I vividly remember walking out of the old Alex Box Stadium on a Sunday early in the baseball season in 2000 after we had just lost the third game of the series after being swept by Houston when I told my kids, "Well, we won't be going to Omaha this year." They started crying.
I could have sworn that one of Skip’s national championship teams lost a game to Louisiana College, but I don’t see it indicated in that post.
Then in June we were in Omaha at the old Rosenblatt Stadium when Ryan Theriot scored the winning run on a hit by Brad Cresse to win the CWS.
That taught me a lesson not to put too much emphasis on early season games.

They lost to NAIA Louisiana College in one of the CWS winning seasons in the mid 90s?

Dumb listing SEC teams. You can’t guarantee SEC wins against anyone.
Lol tell that to the epic meltdown that is bound to occur if we drop even 1 game against Mizzou.

The best MLB teams lose more than 60 games a year in most cases.

Except they turned right back around and pounded 13 hits and 12 runs! So how do you explain that?
