I believe Jimbo probably wants to come here, but he's also in a pretty solid situation as it is. The ball seems to be purely in Sexton's court at this point. His incentive is obviously to make LSU pay a shitload or drive up the price for FSU/perceived value of Jimbo long-term, so he's going to posture as much as possible.

The question has always been about whether Jimbo wants to coach here. If he doesn't, he won't. If he does, he will. Sure, Sexton will try to get him the most money but LSU can and will pay it if he wants it.

By objective you mean thinking exactly like you think and saying exactly what you want said about your beloved Leslie. You sound like a huge vagina...with all due respect of course

Why did that matter though if he wanted to leave?

I still don't understand all the angles apparently.

Bingo. I don't know why people put so much stock in sexton. Yes he's going to get as much money and as good of a contract as he can for his client...but if Jimbo wants to be at LSU or anywhere else he's not going to allow sexton to keep him away from that. He's just going to let sexton get him the best deal possible. So either jimbo wants to stay at fsu and he's letting sexton get the best deal he can there or jimbo wants to be at LSU and will let sexton get him the best deal he can here. He's not going to say go out there and come back and tell me where I'm coaching next year. It's still his choice.

Sexton could benefit even more if Fisher takes the LSU job..Falling dominoes usually accrue to his advantage as there are more opportunities available for his large stable of coach/clients. The more chaos the better for this super agent. And to the OP Fisher is the sole DECIDER in this matter.

Sexton played LSUs boosters, the ones that wanted him here, like fiddles.

I was wondering earlier how this situation could be managed from Jimbo's side with the speed and the pace this was going? He still has to play UF in a big game. Not saying this was a planned pause in things but... it would help. That being said.. Sexton is being Sexton. We should pull our offer and cc the FSU AD effectively ending Sexton's negotiation edge.

I also think the boosters who were going to handle Les' buyout had a contingency that Jimbo was going to be the guy. If that evaporates, the buyout does as well.

I know no one and have 0 inside information. Just pure speculation from all I have read and seen the last week.

well if they dump Les, get ready for LSU to have to settle for someone that most people don't even know exist.

Alleva needs to call Sexton and tell him he has just lost his client a bunch of money. Tell your client to enjoy his contract as it is. We are not going to have a bidding war and besides we have a very capable backup. Otherwise Alleva should come out and give Les a vote of confidence and assure him that his contract ends in 2019 and we will honor it. Then get Les to get a DC.

The original rumor was right.

The current rumor is right.

The next rumor will also be right.

And somehow, some naked dude on page 6 got a Ferrari.

No.

He is his agent. He does what JIMBO wants to do. He doesn't own Jimbo. If Jimbo wants to come to LSU, he's here. If he doesn't, he's at FSU. All Sexton does is max his contract out. Nothing more, nothing less.

You're missing the point. Obviously Fisher is going to do what he wants to do. But Sexton, his interests being aligned directly with Fisher's, is going to work to maximize his client's value, irrespective of what Fisher ends up doing. If Fisher wants to go to LSU, it will happen for the right price. That is the whole reason Sexton is there.

better believe if sexton is the agent, schools will pay a pretty penny for a sexton coach to jump the fence and play in saban's yard.
