Look at our front seven last year and you realize how far we’ve fallen.

BJ was not replaced
Roy was not replaced
Mingo wasn’t the old Mingo
Gaye was not replaced
Baskerville was not replaced

We lack talent and the coaching has failed to put what we have in a winning position.

I will judge House after we get a healthy secondary and more quality defensive recruits.

House blows at this level. This is clear by how bad our LBs look when he was just an LB coach at KC.

Perkins was ranked as a top 5 college football player coming into this year. He has regressed in this scheme. Omar Speights was a 1st-team All Pac-12 player - he has been terrible. Now, the SEC is better than the Pac 12, but you'd expect Speights to at least look like he has played football before out there and he looks completely lost.

House is doing a really poor job. Arkansas and Ole Miss both held Bama to 24 points.

OP also shows just how badly O depleted the roster before CBK arrives.

Perkins is kind of at a crossroads. He either needs to bulk up or slim down and play in the box safety

Left out fact that Alabama has steadily improved on offense (QB and others) since those games were played. Our D has not.

100% correct. Orgeron left the cubbart dry… along with some injuries.
Don’t throw baby out with bath water. Our coaching staff is good.

The defensive coach is a former pro-coach. two years and no improvement.. I fail to see the realization that there is a disconnect between the dc coach and the kids. College is much different. In the pros a lot can be taken for granted with players... like tackling.. learning schemes.

They need to dump the whole defensive crew and get a college experience defensive coach. If kelly can't see that, then he is the problem

Gaye nd Baskerville were no better than the current guys. We replaced Roy with three guys.

Not enough depth on DLine. Second tier LBs and DBs

Offense is at least as good and probably better than Bama.

None of this is new

Now name Tulanes defensive starters against Ole Miss and tell me why they were 2x better than our Jimmy’s and Joe’s.

You mean the guys that have been working together for years in the same system?

We don’t. That’s why I outlined them. We don’t have an SEC caliber defense.

Hell with this factor alone, we shouldn't expect a better defense until 2025.

I remember a statement about Bear Bryant. "He can take his and beat yours, then take yours and beat his."

Yes, the talent is lacking. Strength and speed may not compare to other teams, but the inability to play contain, overrunning plays, getting faked out of your jock strap and not flat out missing tackles is not due to talent level.

Any time you see the DC openly complain, on camera, about a defensive player missing a tackle, that's glaring. A leader doesn't complain about their people, they address the problems.

We knew this secondary was going to be the weakness on this team before the season started. I was worried about LB as well because of depth and Speights being unproven in SEC play.

What we didn’t expect was the injuries to the secondary that exposed them even more. Plus House seems to be an NFL guy that doesn’t know how to adjust his scheme to his level of talent. It’s a recipe for disaster.

Also need to develop players much better. What player has improved on D under House? Jones? Wiggins? Burns? Big 0? I can’t think of anyone, in fact most of the D’s players have regressed.

Defensive recruits must be hearing this big time from other schools.

Compare the offensive assistants on this team to the D assistants. What D assistant would you take over any of the O coaches? None for me.

If Saban said that to Anderson on the field imagine what they say behind closed doors

Two things need to happen. Fire House and pay more money for better players.

Last night we had no one as good as he was at DT.

That’s what talent is. We don’t have it.

I see this at work all the time, and it's frustrating. You can't excuse the lack of leadership by just saying, "I have no talent to work with."

These kids are not on the field at LSfrickingU because they have no talent. They didn't make it to this level not knowing how to play the basics of the game. It takes coaching and leadership to get them to play as a team and trust each other to do their jobs and be where they are supposed to be also. When we watch LSU defense, we see good players playing as individuals because of the lack of leadership. Anyone that can't see that doesn't know much about what leadership does.
