NCAA just won a stay on the court case and he is no longer eligible

He's in the California court state case I believe, not the Colorado that got stayed.

The NCAA is being brought to court in multiple jurisdictions regularly now and they lose almost all of them. It's the reason they're in chaos.

Yep. I do have a little bit of concern that they'll get in front of the state appeals court and have same result (admittedly don't know the differences and nuances compared the Colorado case, so we may be better off) which could POTENTIALLY cause problems w/ LA & CA cases...but courts are closed so they're at least eligible until Monday and I'm just going to enjoy the weekend

Just get him enrolled at LSU and even if NCAA wins an injunction in CA, LSU should be able to file on his behalf in Louisiana.
People that think the NCAA had rules in place the whole time and now they're being circumvented are interesting in their thinking. The NCAA has dragged their feet the whole time last 5 years. They could have just said 2002 class gets a 5th year across the board. Instead, they take a loss in a court case - and then argue a player granted 5/5 that didn't enter the portal when the 5/5 by the NCAA didn't exist yet - must choose to go back to their school for the 5th year or retire.
It's complete and utter nonsense.
