T/F The SEC and NCAA are pushing schools toward an independent super conference.

Clearly the interests of the governing bodies are no longer aligned with that of the schools. Ironically it was their own NIL decision that changed everything. Now it appears their attempts to maintain legitimacy might just be their final undoing.
How long until a new organization of schools forms with a cba for players etc? The writing may already be on the wall.

48 teams: 16 big ten, 16 SEC, Notre Dame, and 15 from ACC/ Big 12.
4- 12 team divisions.
No more games against directional schools, only games against the other teams in the league.
Playoffs in the big 3 sports would be awesome.

We live in a litigious society. As long as the teams are tied to public institutions, players will find a way to get whatever they want through the court system

I been saying for years the Big 10 and SECwould eventually split and do their own thing. They are way bigger than the others.

It was. Their decision to ignore the growing sentiment in favor of NIL and the flaws in how they were restricting players put them in a position where a court forced their hand and set the initial game plan that lawyers would go on to exploit.

Maybe, again, these organizations are all installed by the universities they govern. The rules they make are voted on by the universities.

That is a good question. Part of the issue is that sometimes the have-nots tend to vote against the best interests of the haves because their interests do not always align, and there are more of them.

I don’t think the new organization will be more than 30 teams. I’ve been saying it was going to happen for 4/5 years. Saban as commissioner ,own tv deal own set of guidelines . It’ll suck to destroy the traditions but they’ve already mostly been cast aside. I could see Amazon or someone like them buying the rights.
