unfortunately the agents and top coaches are to blame for these contracts. I wish it would turn the other way but the universities would have to band together and not offer such one sided contracts for that to change

I guarantee LSU will lose more than 10 million dollars the rest of this season and next if they keep him. If not doubling it. But they will make him hire a lame duck new Offensive staff and go 8-4 next year then they’ll fire him.

He didn't hire Kelly. Why does he have to pay Kelly's buyout?

So in other words, he can STFU. If he doesn't like it, then he can check out.

I don't like BK and I definitely want him fired. Guess what? I'm not paying his buyout and I'm damn sure not sending LSU $500 to a $1,000 to crowd source his buyout.

CHECK THAT! Actually, I would participate in a crowd-sourcing effort to get him fired. We don't need to raise the full buyout. We just need to reduce it enough to get the wealthy individuals to pull the trigger on firing him.

So what is that number? $27,000,000?

If someone started a petition legally binding anyone who signed it to donate $270 towards the firing of BK if the petition reaches a 100,000 signatures, then I would digitally sign that MFer without even thinking about it.

By the way, frick Scott Woodward for giving him that contract. It's so easy to spend other people's money. He should have to contribute a substantial amount towards BK's firing or face unemployment.

6 years should be the max a contract is for?
As far as length goes.

this is a much more difficult job than Kelly thought he was taking and he has no desire to do it.

It's not tougher because of NIL (Even though LSU has some NIL players - meaning they play hard to get a good NIL deal, then coast)

It's tougher for Kelly because Kelly is not used to 7 or 8 SEC games a year. Probably underestimated how tough the SEC really is.

He's used to games against Air Force, Army, Navy, Western This, Central That, etc.

in this scenario, collusion would be a great thing. someone getting $50 million to GTFO and go away b/c he sucks at his job is simply ridiculous.

Who has he stuck with for too long?

House was fine in 2022 and awful in 2023. Fired after 2023.

Sloan was OK in 2024 and awful in 2025. Will be fired after 2025

They will just dump more money into players instead

That well is going to dry up. Heavy hitters made huge contributions last year to get the portal players with promises of a much better team. It did not happen.

They are not going to do it again unless Kelly some how salvages the season to respectable status.

That was a good rant by T-Bob. He’s a former player. I know he’s not alone on “we look soft”.

I think Kiffin may have one structured like that bc that is the max the state will allow.

Indiana coach just made everything worse getting what he got...some of the big coaches have in their contract that winning a national title they have to be the top paid coach in the country.

He’s not an idiot, everyone knows this conference is a meat grinder.

I think he initially thought he’d spend the first 4-5 grinding, get that NC to put a bow tie on a HOF career, and coast on the back end of the deal. Having to navigate a salary cap, constantly recruit HS kids , portal guys, and your own roster is more work than he thought.

I think losing underwood sort of broke him as well, put a lot of eggs in that basket

I disagree with this part. Losing Underwood allowed LSU to beef up their Defense. AND, with Nussmeier coming back, Underwood would have been on the bench.

BK has too much freedom for what he is paid. Should be living around football ops 24/7 365 for that amount of money.

I think initially BK wanted to get that NC on his resume and he was hungry. All he had to do here was clean up some things, put a border around the state, and win a title after a few years just as his 3 predecessors did…then NIL/portal era really changed the game, suddenly LSU doesn’t have the built in advantages it’s enjoyed in the past, and this is a much more difficult job than Kelly thought he was taking and he has no desire to do it.

He’s now fine playing CEO from afar and enjoying his money. LSU can do nothing to motivate him due to the stupid fricking contract we agreed to

Exactly my thoughts
