I saw Brees have like 4 dropped passes, they still scored bunch. Your offensive opportunities shouldn't be so limited that a drop o. A five yard slant is that damn critical.
So, by T Bobs assessment, if everything went perfect,we may score 13 to 16 points.
Damn WRs, kept us from losing 14-13

Former players' opinions only carry weight when they blame the coaching staff and are expressed through twitter.

Beyond pushing for JD to play more, he took his shots at the OL as well. One thing he credited JD for was "teaching him to be mean". And T Bob says he sees none of that on the field, OL pushing & getting in the face of the defensive players, etc. He also said youth is a factor with the younger guys, as it took him 2 yrs to get comfortable with playing against SEC defenses. As for the snap against UT, when it was brought up by a caller, he immediately said that the biggest play of that game was JL's big 4th down pass on 4th & 17 (?). He also said he made it a point to stomp on the gator at midfield post game last yr, in revenge for several gators stomping on the Tiger at midfield the game the yr before. Everything he says reeks with his love for the Tigers. For those who knock him, get off his arse.

damn good post. being outcoached is not something the players can fix.

he's right about Beckham. he's just not a number 1 receiver. he does not need to be our X receiver any longer. I would rather see Landry or anyone else taking that spot. his hands and routes are worse than 50/50..
Surely billy g taught him better than this

Well Brees and Saints run a ton more plays than us. we run like 35 plays a game. each drop hurts

Is Josh Dworwaczyk hurt on not? Miles keeps saying he's nicked up but T-bob makes it sound like he's just not getting on the field.

Say what you want about the players, i am blaming the play calling:
Offensive Line Coach calling the plays. Enough said. Couldn't this be a quick fix?

The problem is not only WR's dropping balls. Our coaching staff & offensive leaders are NOT making adjustments at half time just like in the NC Game and we're getting out coached.
If LSU had the UF offensive coordinator, and UF had our offensive coaches we would have destroyed Florida. We were out schemed by Muschamp.
Did not everyone in the Nation think we'd get blitzed from Mett's blindside all day. Yes we all knew it after AU and Townson. Did we prepare something to counter it? NO we did NOT! That my friend is poor coaching.
What grand elaborate scheme did Muschamp use? He played defense and ran the ball on a worn out LSU D.
How many times has Miles won using this same scheme.
Dropped balls were a HUGE problem and have been all year. You catch a few of those passes and it extends drives. It also gives your D a chance to rest.
This team has issues on offense. The OL's struggled and the WR's drop WAY too many passes. Mett makes mistakes as any 1st year starter will.
The playcalling leaves much to be desired.
As for Blindside blitz's, it's hard to say. Was it Mett not picking it up or not getting rid of the ball quick enough. Is it someones missed assignment. Who's to say they didn't have something ready to counter it and the players didn't execute.
Look sometimes it's the coaches, but sometimes it's player execution.
All that said we lost 14-6 on the road to a good team.
I'm not a huge Miles fan when it comes to his in-game coaching (never have been). But, he's not a bad coach.
Honestly against Fla we should have run the ball more even though we didn't have a ton of success.

Regarding Mett, I don't see him being a real negative factor... I see many sacks he is taking is a result of receivers not getting separation or not being open all together. Also, the play calling is leaving him with very few second reads on a given play...
Also, as everyone has realized, the line play leaves much to be desired especially at the tackle positions.
Play calling is too predictable and when there is 3 and 3 and we call a toss dive play into 9 men in the box bc the opposition knows Les tendencies, well Mett can't make plays that extend the drive.
I am beginning to think administration needs to talk to Les about hiring an offensive mind for coordinator and relinquish some of the authority to call plays. Krag should be the OC or he should be let go. An offensive coordinator should be also the QB coach so to speak bc the two seemingly go hand in hand as to a productive offensive scheme. Developing a QB to play in the scheme and run the plays is what I envision a true OC to do in order to have an effective offense.

This is the "always a Tiger" passion I just love! Almost brings tears to my eyes.

This is also a dumb FALSE myth on here. You don't win as much as Les has without making adjustments. Also there were adjustment made in the second half of this game.

If those drops are on 3rd down, then yes drops keep you from scoring

It's clear some of you know shite about football. If the offense executes, THE PLAYS CALLED WILL WORK. this is common knowledge.

yeah, i'm sure the coaches didn't plan or explain to the qb and rb's, hey, two corner blitzes has rocked our qb. I don't think florida will do it, thought. The stupidity on this board is amazing.
Just a hunch, maybe the coaches explained this, told the players what to look for, and the player/players have a problem seeing/recognizing it, therefore, the adjustment isn't being seen.
i don't know, call me crazy. I have a hard time believing coaches, whos coached many years at the highest of levels, didn't see the two corner blitzes that rocked out qb and ignored it.

Agreed Dos. It's amazing the stupidity I see from some people.
In no way do I think the coaches are blameless.
But, it's not like they don't make adjustments. Maybe not the adjustments that others would make, but adjustments none the less.

wow, great to hear thoughts of a real mind like Tbob, and a leader too! other than the dui he got and the time he back stabbed the whole team and coach with help from his dad after we lost NC game when we had somehow won 14 in a row without their high IQ's!..and especially from a guy who lost his starting job as a senior, yes, good stuff and no chip on his shoulder...maybe he can get a criminal to show up at Les speach next year like snoopdog, yes these 2nd rate OL ex players are always a BIG help...thanks

It seems to me that Mett takes a deep drop and the DE's come around and pound him from either side. EVERYTIME I see this, there appears to be a nice, soft hole of about 4-5 yds for Mett to step up and fill...but he simply doesn't do it.

I think T-Bob exemplified how to come back after you've done wrong.

Bobby has a pretty good understanding of the game and asked some straightforward questions in the post-game press conf. It would seem unlikely they there was even time for T-Bob and Bobby to talk post-game.

T-Bob "lost" his starting job before '10. He filled in at G/C as needed. Again, I never got the impression that he was anything other than 100% Tiger and a team player. Tiger fans are all indebted to him for the snap vs Tenn in '10.
