I just asked my 31 year old mechanical engineer daughter this exact question earlier today. Her immediate reply was, "They are cutting off aid to the poor people in need in other countries and no one wants 1 person making those decisions."...meaning Musk, not Trump. She is aware of what USaID stands for but is busy listening to what people in her bubble are listening to and may not fully understand how great this is for most of us right away.
