Just lease them all to the TAF. Problem solved.
I want Alcohol at all SEC sporting events, I think it is stupid they don't sell it. But I still want people getting their facts straight.
Note: all NCAA championships alcohol can't be sold. edit: except football.

Besides, it won't matter when they have to start paying players and need a big quick revenue bump; the SEC will change their rules.
I don't think that will happen but it would be a good thing IMO, at-least lighten the restrictions on what they can be given.
edit: I'm done debating this. Adding a berm to Alex Box will never happen, so it is pointless to debate it.

Maybe I'm reading that link wrong but it appears to me that they claim that they don't control the selling of alcohol at Div 1 football championships either. So, you could have it at all regular season games, in all sports, and at the postseason of football.

baseball doesn't fit in that.
But I know this is the policy for sure. I went to a few games in Omaha last season no Alcohol. than I went to the college home run derby they sold it in the stadium.

Right. So the NCAA only restricts the sale of alcohol at non-football post season events. Other than that, drink up.

except if you are in the SEC than only if you are rich and can pay for suites or club seats can you drink.

Personally I don't see the problem with serving. I've never been to a professional sporting event where I didn't get a drink, and the people I was with always drank, and many of the people in the stadium were drinking... it never seems to be a problem there so why would it be a problem at collegiate events?

Not even a smaller version in between the right field bleachers and center?

that isn't a lot of room

another problem with that area is that they use that to bring in things from outside of the field to inside of the field that are large. For example I think they keep the batting cage that covers home plate for batting practice. They brought in mike through that same area. If you take that out there is no other way to bring in big things into the field.

While watching other games during the regionals and Supers I have found myself paying more attention to the crowds and stadiums this postseason than the games themselves.
Alleva, build a berm and allow ice chests. If it's pre-sales you want so you can keep saying that we have 10,000+ paid attendance then sale season tix out there. You could even rent lawn chairs and sale bags of ice. There's your extra revenue.

something else, have any of you been to a tournament away from Alex Box Stadium and seen the amount of fans who show up? Have you been in Omaha for an LSU baseball game? What about Hoover? It always seems that when it comes to those games LSU fans DOMINATE attendance. Last year there were a couple of traditional powers in Omaha LSU and UNC. Oregon State there as well they have had success, MSU has had success in the past but not so much recently. LSU fans were many more than all of those schools. LSU has one of the most committed and loyal fan bases in the country.
to compare we are Kentucky Basketball of the baseball world.
Good God dude

Well yeah... When you drive to an away venue and your team takes 2/3 it's easy to enjoy yourself.

The outfield in swayze is awesome. Every other aspect the box is superior.
It doesn't hurt they can bring in ice chests full of beer either.

I've enjoyed road baseball series where we've lost the series.

Anyone who doesn't want a berm is too old. Who cares if students would get drunk? That's what they do. A berm would be awesome for atmosphere.
I'm 41. ABS atmosphere ain't what it was 20 years ago.

not really an argument over who has a nicer stadium, arguing who has a better atmosphere now. The Box greatly lacks any kind of atmosphere.

it's an excuse for college students to show up and drink. Newsflash it's their school!!
Correct. It was mentioned earlier but take a look in the stands, 50, 60, 70 year olds sitting there yawning. That combined with killing the bats and lets be honest, its boring.

We're such great sports, though. I paid for my tickets and if I want to suck off the opposing team, I will, dammit!
