I know a lot of people have questioned how much involvement Brady will have. From the sound of things the offense is all his.
From the Athletic ($)
quote:
That’s my whole mindset to everything,” Brady says. “Like I want high expectations for everything we do, in the receiver room, for everybody. That receiver room has to be able to pick everything up, and we’re throwing an NFL offense at them, which has been impressive to me. When the defensive coaches are like, ‘Man, how are you receivers able to handle all of this?’ And I’ll ask our guys, ‘Do you guys find this stuff too much right now?’ They’re like, ‘No, not at all.’ They’re so engaged and that really excites me as a coach. I’m excited to see it take off this year.
“Whatever expectations I had going into spring have been surpassed because of these guys, so I’m like I guess we can even do more, and they’re sitting there like ‘Coach, let’s go.’ We can keep going. Our guys are playing confidently, and when guys are playing confidently, they’ll believe in whatever you come up with. If they believe in the system, it doesn’t matter what plays you’re calling, they think it’s gonna work. The guy down the hall, Dave Aranda is the best defensive coordinator in the country, and when our guys see that we’re having success against them, this stuff works.”
The terminology is all new for the LSU players. They’re calling it just like the Saints do. Brady says it’s a big credit to veteran offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger, who has been selfless in embracing the changes. As have the players. It helps that, as Brady has told them, when they do go to the NFL, it’s going to be called the exact same way and they’re going to be running the exact same concepts.

Great read—thanks for posting

That's good stuff. Thanks for posting this. It really does sound like as long as Ensminger and Brady can get the playcalling dynamic down that this should be a very good offense.

I want to believe I really do
But......
But......

No he's not... It's just we've heard this before and it didn't work out. He has every right to be skeptical.

Les miles isn’t the coach bubba. Read the article

That's great to hear, sounds like Brady will really help us out. Still is a strange set up though, to have a guy come in and overhaul the offense and needing your OC to be selfless because he stunk at his job.

E didn’t stink he just can’t compete with Bama
I hope his offense isn’t too complicated with us having an early test against Texas

So this week the offense is Brady's. Hard to keep up.

So the squad that looks like it doesn’t even practice offense half the time is going to be the Saints.......K

I played college football at a smaller university. Two different Junior colleges and one 4 year institution. During that span, I had 4 different head coaches and four different offensive coordinators. You can tell when one coach has his shite together and exudes confidence and I love how Brady stated that when the players have confidence in the system it leads to success. My junior year we were run heavy check at the line. By the end of the season, everytime we would audible at the line the opposing teams linebackers would yell to the defense where the ball was going and our coach was too stubborn to change. Talk about a complete lack of confidence that leads to negativity, complaining amongst players etc. I fully understand everyone’s doubts and have been on this emotional off season offensive roller coaster for many years now but I feel like this is different.

After what we've seen the last 2 seasons, I don't get how anyone wouldn't at least be a little skeptical.

It does. I think they just have to figure out the playcalling and hope that we come out looking good out of the gate. Personally, even if we struggle early, I would like to see them still run the offense and not scale it back this time.

At least I am self-aware enough to realize that I get like this every year RE modern offense and RE chances against Bama.
all that said... it moved a little lol

Doesn't matter who the coach is, if you cannot throw it accurately, read the defense, or block the other guys.
I'll believe it when I see an oline not getting destroyed..

Do you really think every other school is just that much more accurate, reads defenses that much better and blocks that much better
And has been for the last decade?
At the end of the day spread offenses were developed because not every school has an NFL qb or 5* Left tackles.

I’m all about LSU, but I no longer believe any pre-season hype. I like our personnel, but at the end of the day I’ll believe it when:
They Prove It On The Field
